I was diagnosed with asthma around eight months ago, after I was hospitalized twice because I couldn't breath. My family has a history of asthma, however, until then I've never had a breathing issue. This happened around May of 2011, and today my PCM finished and finally submitted her narrative of my case. In addition to my asthma, she is also including an ankle injury I sustained while cycling, which didn't heal correctly.
I was wondering what approximate timeline I can expect from here, and what the result will most likely be?
I take Symbicort twice a day, Xopenex as my rescue inhaler, Singulair at night, and a wide array of sinus medications. I have also been placed intermittently on oral steroids throughout the past several months, and I need regular nebulizer treatments. I have to use my rescue inhaler every time I workout, as well as during cold weather. I am also undergoing allergy shots in hopes that it will at least help with the environmental factors that trigger my asthma attacks.
I have failed a PT test because of this, and until this point I've gotten 90's and above. I've been on two profiles for around eight months, one for my asthma and the other for my ankle.
I'm just curious about what kind of timeline I can expect to hear the results of my MEB, as well as whether or not I can expect to be returned to duty?
Thank you for any time and input.
