Hello,

I am a Navy Intelligence Officer and I have not taken a full PRT in two years due to Asthma, VCD, and chronic left ankle pain. I have now developed chronic hip, knee and calf pain on the left side as well. I am being told by the PEB lawyer that there is a good chance I will be found fit since I am an Officer. I am currently missing 6-8 hours per week of work managing appointments and being found fit will not change my medical concerns nor make them better. I originally had the NMA signed stating my intention was to remain in the Navy, but have changed since the conditions have worsened and not improved. Any thoughts?

I have been referred for a medical board for three conditions:
  • Mild Persistent Asthma -
    • Originally diagnosed in 2009, but symptoms worsened
    • I take a 250/50 Advair Disk daily and Albuterol for emergencies
  • Vocal Cord Dysfunction -
    • Diagnosed in 2009 at National Jewish in Denver, CO
    • Increased breathing rate due to poorly managed VCD
    • Hyperventilate when I run due to shallow breathing
    • Unable to do cardio based VCD treatments due to leg pain
  • Left Ankle injury - (High Ankle Sprain)
    • Physical therapy, Prolotherapy and PRP - none have eliminated pain
    • Been to Ortho twice, nothing surgical according to them
    • Plantar fasciitis left heel
    • Wear prescribed orthotics daily
    • No PFA for the past two years
Submitted to VA:
  • Rhinitis
  • Bilateral knee pain
  • Morton's Neuroma
  • Increased breathing rate due to VCD
  • Mild Obstructive Sleep Apnea
  • Eczema
  • Right ankle injury with surgery
  • GERD
  • Plantar Fasciitis
