It took my local board almost 6 weeks to complete my dbqs/narsum. Then they sent my package to IPEB, waited 3 weeks for them to return my package saying it was missing a bunch of information and my peblo responded by saying she had no idea what she was doing. Im lost and just waiting and now its the holidays, so frustrated but yalls stories and timelines give me some hope this will end eventually.
I know—it can be tough. I really hope your turn comes soon.
My first stage (PRE-IDES) dragged on, and I compared my timeline to others’ a lot. My mental health didn’t help during that period. Then, all of a sudden, things accelerated, which honestly caught me off guard and made me start thinking about what it will be like to leave the USAF. (not helping...)

same! I'm kind of at ease cause I know I'll be going to school but I have to get accepted first lol so we'll see. With it being the holidays, I feel like the 4-8 week timeline for our IPEB will go by VERY quickly...
Happy holidays!! Seems like your early MEB did go fast!! My PEBLO has had my dbqs since 11 Dec and estimated 3-4 weeks before even going to the local board I don’t understand why this should take so long. I’m seeing a lot of other timelines where this only takes a few days so it’s really frustrating.

Happy holidays to you too!
Timelines really do come in all shapes and sizes. Comparing them can sometimes help, but just as often they end up causing confusion, frustration, or anxiety.
As for why some cases move faster, it mcan depend on many factors—how complete the DBQs were, whether anything needed clarification, or simply the workload and coordination between QA, the MSC, the PEBLO, the MEB, and others involved. A delay doesn’t necessarily mean something is wrong.
But I am only speculating here. Guessing.

From what I’ve been told by my PEBLO, my case has to be presented to the AMRO board again. Those boards, at my base at least, are held every 2nd and 4th Tuesdays/Thursdays of the month. So, operating under the assumption that yours might be the same at your base, the 11th’s board might have already been done. My PEBLO told me the one on the 23rd might not happen due to proximity to the holidays, meaning the next set of boards wouldn’t happen until January 13th/15th. If you’d like me to share that email, I totally can.
For clarity, I’ve already had my DBQs sent to my PEBLO and this conversation was following him receiving them from the MSC.

Yes that does make sense. I remember before my irlo officially started my pcm kept telling me they were going to go over my case at the next board that they had, which got canceled two weeks in a row, so my case had a late start from that too. Could be the same kind of thing happening again due to the holidays.
zazoo is right too, comparing can help get an idea of what to expect but also can’t help but cause the negative feelings as well when my case isn’t moving as fast as others are. I know I’m not the only one wanting it all to be done as soon as possible to be able to move on with life. It’s a really stressful time!
same
same. went from nothing to this. my MSC told me we’ll get the actual proposed rating when our IPEB comes back but I’ve been seen people who have gotten theirs prior. Depending on my rating, I’ll be submitting more claims at the end during my exit interview
Can you view your letter online? And does it show a percent? When I called the Va today to see if there was any movement regarding a proposed rating, They said a decision letter was being drafted as we spoke and would be mailed out most likely today and available to see in the app once mailed. She said she could see my rating but couldn’t tell me what it is but I would be able to see it in the letter, which is contradictory to some of others posts previously.

- What are the currentIPEB processing times? Package was received on 20 Dec, VA closed the claim on 29 Dec - how long before hearing from the PEBLO?
- I see in @soundrunner post that they were told about the letter being mailed. They (VA) told me the same thing. Do they really/actually mail those letters?

When I called the Va back after my last post and asked about the letter, a different rep said for those of us in the ides process they actually don’t mail any letters until after our meb is complete. That rep also wouldn’t tell me my rating, but I called my Peblo yesterday and he was able to tell me what it was! I’m still waiting for my pcm to do a narsum addendum and send to ipeb but my Peblo said having the rating done by the Va already helps make things move faster

29 Dec 25 - PEBLO informed me that the IPEB turnaround is estimated at 3-4 weeks from the 19 Dec submission (placing it roughly between 9–16 Jan 26)
30 Dec 25 - PEBLO advised me to wait for the official appointment, at which point I would receive both my IPEB and VA decisions (including potential rating) (Day 11)
So not much has happened since 22 Dec.
The frustrating part is knowing a VA decision exists and that people can see it, but I can’t. That uncertainty has kicked up a lot of anxiety.
I’m doing better by reminding myself that worrying won’t change the outcome. Still, it’d be nice to know, especially since others on the forum have heard through their PEBLOs or VA reps.
