Well it’s official I am now on MED Board. My referring condition is torn labrum’s and FAI in both my hips and still having pain after surgery. Now this is the refraining condition but in order for me to medical retire I know I need 30 percent rating from the DoD. I’m getting conflicting information and just want to know will the DoD rate all of my unfitting conditions? I was referred based on the hips only because that’s what I’m on LIMDU for.

If the VA rates them separately then they each get separate ratings and if all found unfit they all get combined via VA math. Joints and pain don't get rated high. Look up VA rating table for each condition and see the ratings and compare to your symptoms to get an idea. Sometime conditions are combined such as all mental health or asthma and sleep apnea for breathing so make sure they rate separately.

consider hiring a private IDES Attorney from the start if you can afford it. They give you the best chance since they can help you shape your case to reach your goals. They can look at your medical files and see if there are any other conditions that you can argue are unfit and then you can build your case as you progress through the IDES process.
