Decision guidance for MEB at 19 years in the National Guard

Ok. Just got an email from MyFSS (air force) and it’s about retirement. Not stating anyone got the MEB/PEB package. It’s asking to input orders and 214’s. Is this what the first MyFSS email is supposed to look like? Everyone always says “I got my first MyFSS email”. It they don’t state what it actually is. I’m assuming this is it, but wanted to verify. Any help is appreciated.

I think you got something different. Maybe because you’re so close to regular retirement? My first MyFSS email says:
“The Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Officer (PEBLO) at your base Medical Treatment Facility (TF) sent your Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) package to the Air Force Personnel Center Physical Disability Operations Branch. The Physical Disability Operations team is reviewing your package to ensure the documentation is current and complete.

Incomplete MEB packages are returned to your base PEBLO for correction as it is vital the information is accurate and current in order for the Informal Physical Evaluation Board (IPEB) to make a determination. Once it is verified your package is complete, Physical Disability Operations will transfer your completed package into a Disability Evaluation System (DES) case file for review by the IPEB.

Here are some key things to remember:

The PEBLO at your base MTF is your primary point of contact throughout the DES process.

It is your responsibility to contact the Airman and Family Readiness Center at your base to schedule pre-separation counseling at the earliest possible date following your entry into the Disability Evaluation System.

You have the right to Office of Disability Counsel (ODC) legal representation at no expense. The ODC may be contacted at DS65-0739 or 210) 565-0739 or Toll Free 1-855-632-5247 or [email protected]. In lieu of ODC representation, you may elect to seek counsel from a non-Air Force affiliated attorney at your own expense.

For additional information about the Air Force Disability Evaluation System, please review this article in MyPers$KM/13006 or on the AFPC website.”

It was something different. After about 3 or 4 years, they finally updated my records to show my deployments and title 10 orders to give me 15 months worth of early retirement. So instead of retiring at 60, I can retire at 58 years and 9 months old now.

Signed my 618 today. Hopefully I can hit the 20-year mark. It's doable. I just may have to kick the can a little bit. The VA has my proposed ratings, but I can't find them out yet. The Peblo said that may make things run faster since they've already calculated my ratings... that's normally the bottle neck that takes up more time. We shall see.

Just found out from a phone call to the VA and having them send me an email. My proposed rating for the VA is 100%.
