I was wondering if anyone knows if my PEBLO could block me from taking emergency leave. I'm getting close to getting my ratings maybe two weeks. I'm trying to take leave for 4 days.

Are u still in your 90 day no leave or pass window?
If you are done with the 90 you're good. If not yeah go see your PEBLO!

Well I'm in the Army and on the very first day I
sat down with my PEBLO he gave me a memorandum
that says I can't go on leave or pass for 90 days
because of the C&P exams and whatever they want you
to do in those 90 days! Not sure if this is your case.

WTF? Where are you? At BAMC we are required to have a leave request signed by our PEBLO, OT, Social Work, etc. As long as you don't have any appointments during your leave time you are GTG. The only thing that ever interfered with my leave was I was unable to get specialty appointments made (neurology, urology, gastro, etc.) until I can back from leave.

No but I'm on Ft Bliss. Now I was given a packet
by my PEBLO and my CO signed it. Now on the second
page I have the 90 it's called the accountability Ann availability
for va/dod ides. It's the one where it says your unable to deploy pcs or ets.
I small print it's also says it discourage admin leave or any other type
of absence. But If you been in ides for a while your good you can
go on leave.

Going on any type of leave will pause your MEB process, if you leave the state. You will have to contact your PEBLO once you get back to notify them that you are back to work.

If you do no leave the state and are staying with in the designated mileage radius, the MEB does not have to know you went on leave.

I have yet to find a single service specific instruction, order, directive, etc. that states anything denying leave. It appears to be a base by base decision, but ultimately leave is approved by your command. The PEBLO needs to be notified and possibly even "ok" it, but at the end of the day the PEBLO can not grant or deny leave.

I also had to sign a memo and that memo was forwarded to my 1SG saying that I could ot go on any type of Leave for the first 100 days of the med board process. I am at Fort Sill, OK. After the 100 days we are gtg as all of the exams etc. are finished. They do this because it costs the Army money if you miss those exams or any appointments when the PEBLO needs to see you. I'd suggest talking to your PEBLO and explaining the situation because miine helps me in any way possible. They will try to work with you.

JBLM has a similar memo thing, but it states that if you need to leave the state it stops your MEB packet, and resumes when you get back. But the PEBLO, Case Worker, and the MEB office Supervisor had to approve it along with your CoC...

I went on leave 3 times while on MEB and PEB, but stayed in the state and never notified my PEBLO. It wasn't any of their business for all I cared. Even told my PEBLO at my 199 brief that I was on leave and she laughed and said "ok makes it better for all of us I guess."
