Hi all:

E benefits shows claim has closed, and from what I have been able to see online, it looks like it all matches the DA-199, so no surprises! I will just wait for the BBE to make sure. It took right at 4 months two weeks to get my ratings finalized after retirement. Now I have to find a new hobby instead of spending half my day obsessing over ebenefits. Best of luck to all.

I plan on sticking around to assist as I can with others fighting the burn pit battle. Thanks to everyone for the support. Bob

Have you been told anything on how long it will take to receive 1st VA check? Husband medically retired June 19 and we got his retirement check on August 1st. My husband got 100% rating VA and 90% Army. We filed his claim through MEB in Oct 2013 and got his rating in March. His PEBLO said that was the fastest she's seen with that high of ratings. We planned on moving to GA, but ended up moving back to CO. Denver VA didn't get all his paperwork until last month due to Atlanta saying they never had his paperwork from Fort Riley. After getting Fort Riley IDES involved Atlanta finally sent all his stuff to Denver. His PEBLO said we would start getting his VA check by August 1st at which time he could apply for CRSC. She also told us he would go for reevaluation in 6 months when they would do his final ratings. Apparently no one around here that works for the VA has no idea about the MEB/PEB process. The VA guy at Denver Benefits Office said they have to do his final ratings before we would get his check. Now we are totally confused. We know Seattle VA IDES has his paperwork and I guess they are reviewing everything to make sure all the paperwork was done correctly. We get that part. What is getting us is that no one in the VA knows anything or works together. We called the VA again over 10 days ago and the lady told us the only thing she could see was that Seattle IDES has his paperwork. She put in a request for Seattle to call us, but never did. Now we are trying to figure out when we will get his first check.

After retirement it take 1-5 months to get first pay by the VA, once you retire Seattle reviews your husband claim all over again to become official, once thats done you can begin to receive compensation benefits

My VA C&P was finalized less than one month after it was received. It took them one day to finalize the ratings.

You can use eBenefits for this part,a sit is very accurate once the claim is out of the IDES.

Indeed, congratulations too; we thank you! :D Enjoy life and take care!

In retrospect, my DoVA final ratings were awarded as of 1 Aug 14; a total duration of 2 months and a couple of days after official placement onto the military TDRL.

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!
