Good Morning Everyone,

Been a few months now. I have some follow-up info and questions. I did my C&P re-eval for my PTSD/Depression a few weeks back and they actually sent out the letter and closed it very quickly. Though it has been almost 10 business days and the letter still hasnt arrived. I did notice when I was looking at the VA letters that it changed to permanent and total and the payment amount went up. From what I can tell the % stayed the same in the disabilities section so I am unsure why the payment amount changed. What I am worried about is whether or not they can just assign you with IU or if that is something you have to accept or is another process. I still rely on my working income so I am just curious what the odds are that they would give that to me. I am 100% disabled with 70% in mental and now P&T. Any information will be greatly appreciated. I know I can just wait till the letter arrives but I cant get it off my mind and the mail is super slow these days.

Thanks,

Joe

Hello so if you have a permanent and total. You shouldn't be working still they pay you to stay home because your disability requires you to stay home. You have 70 for 1 health condition that's automatically P&T. Because u have P&T, ur home will be tax free, you can get DV tags which are permanent and your student loans can be A wiped clean.
But if you don't want it then call the Va and tell them that u don't want because you want to work. They just went off ur C&P re evaluation.

I appreciate your answer, but I dont believe that to be correct. P&T doesnt mean you are unemployable, IU or TDIU is what you would need to become unemployable. And having 70% does not make you automatically P&T.

Update: I still did not get the letter, I will probably call today or tomorrow and see if I can get them to email it to me. I did notice that my condition updated. It originally stated PTSD with Anxiety/Panic Attacks and Depression. Now it is saying PTSD with Adjustment Disorder. Which doesnt make sense to me. From what I have read, an Adjustment disorder is usually within a few months of something happening. It has been 10 years since the experience. And now the anxiety and depression are gone. I am unsure if I should put up a fight since they kept me at 70% for the PTSD (100% with P&T). I dont understand why they would the illness.

Thanks,

Joe

When my ptsd went to 70 they gave me it automatically permanent and total. Which was a over all 100. After I got my letter saying I cant work due to my ptsd . I was then told by a VA representative to fille out paperwork for SS. If u don't believe to be 2 . Then I'm sorry for you. I'm have been on P&T for 5 years. Goodluck to then.

I understand that that is what you went through. But from what I have read in here and on law websites, P&T does not automatically mean you cannot work. Though, you never know, I could be wrong, things change all the time.

I am 100% P&T (For PTSD) and continue to work. Situations vary

Ok, another follow up. I called the VA and got the letter emailed. It does not state anything about IU or TDIU so I think I am in the clear there. Though I am confused about the verbiage. So, from my understanding, Permanent and Total means you are essentially not having to continue to do re-evaluations periodically every few years, right? But then in the letter it also states: Evaluation of posttraumatic stress disorder, which is currently 70 percent disabling, is continued. does that "is continued" mean that this is a continuation from previous evaluations, or that they are going to continue to evaluate, which would mean it isnt P&T? Thanks in advance for any clarification.

Your VA generated letters should indicate whether your P&T or not

It does say P&T, but the verbiage about evaluating being continued confuses me honestly.

yea, I wish I could, but I think too much into everything. It's a curse.
