Holy crap. From orders received to final day in the Army you have 21 days?! Is that typical? I didn't know if they gave you like a general timeline of ninety days or how that works. Im waiting on ratings and PEB results, Narsum was sent 25 March.

I got a job offer back in February and they’ve been waiting for me to separate so I can start working for them. So I took 9 days of terminal leave and did not take my authorized 20 days of PTDY.

You still get your NLT 90 days to separate. But when they calculate your total terminal leave and out processing time, they’ll amend your orders accordingly.

In my case I wanted my first day as a veteran to be April 29, so that May will be my first full month and hopefully receive my first check June 1. If I took my full PTDY I would not see the first payment till July 1.

That makes sense. I'm currently at the peb phase, Narsum was sent March 25th and ive been waiting patiently but unfortunately my peblo has told me nothing. I didn't understand that they give you a window of 90 days, not a set date and they base it off of your leave and ptdy. Thats good to hear. Any advice going forward for me? Im hoping my stuff comes back soon.. been in this process since April, wasnt put on P3 until Nov.. i feel like it's moving super slow..

So your ides timeline doesn’t “start” until your officially accepted into the program. So from your acceptance date they try to get you out in 180 days (6 months). For me I got accepted Oct 15 and I’m officially out just over 6 months later. So I followed the DOD timeline for the most part.

For me it took about 8 weeks from NARSUM submission to da199 being returned to my PEBLO (I was on leave so +1 week to actually sign it) but every case is different. I would call the Va once a week and ask if my proposed rating were delivered to the PEB/DOD, when that happens you are a couple weeks from your da199. If you have a cool MSC at that point they could tell you what your proposed rating are even before your da199 is returned to your PEBLO.

I requested to amend my orders for an earlier date two days ago and haven’t heard anything yet.

Did you have an expedited process or anything special?
No special process. When you get your orders you get your NLT 90 day separation date and 26 days to clear, for me it was like June 21 separation dated and a must be on terminal leave by may 2. All I needed was a signed ippsa terminal leave request with an earlier terminal leave date, 10 business days for me. Then based off how many leave days I took they will make your separation on the last leave day.
