FPEB Appeal denied and awaiting follow on review prior to receiving the 199, I’m told I can appeal the findings and would likely result in another board hearing. I struggle when on the spot to thoroughly articulate thoughts and feeling…I need help, what would you recommend as the next step, do I need an attorney and can the case be salvaged?

I Always recommend hiring a dedicate private attorney. They are expensive but all they do is IDES and there is only a handful of them in the USA. My wife hired one from the start and her results were better than we ever imagined. A lot of that was our attorney knowing what it would take to win and when a result wasn't ideal my wife could just forward it to her attorney who would work on an appeal. They can even show up for in person FPEB to represent you. Dedicated private is much better than free JAG in my opinion because the dedicated attorney will spend much more time and effort on your case.

Sometimes its not possible or the odds aren't good especially when you DYI it yourself and ask them to save you at the end. The earlier they take your case the more sway they can have over the iPEB, PEB and the president of the board.
Get copies of All of your Medical records and Military. PEB and DD214. Keep hard copies always. For the Board 1st step is journal notes for yourself as it may be helpful. 2nd read your Medical records carefully. Does it appear consistent with your injury or impairments. Why or why not? Write it down. Next research each diagnosis written. Does it appears to be what you are suffering from? Now seek more information about your condition on websites that are credible. Write down your thoughts?
ORGANIZING is crucial. Gather your diagnosis and research as well as your journal information. Does your Board seem to have it correct? Why or why not? This is what you need yo present to them.
