It has now been 1.5 months and my exams have not been closed and sent back to my MSC yet. Is this normal? I only had 4 standard exams and it seemed like each person conducting them would get them back reasonably quick. Should I reach out to my MSC?

Hey! This is normal. I haven’t got my exams back and I finished over two months ago

Hey Ft Meade also this has been my timeline

Active Duty Navy - Fort Meade MTF: Walter Reed & Kimbrough

After emailing the PEBLO multiple times told that my docs were sent for NARSUM to be drafted 31 Oct 2023 but that a lot of NARSUMs were ahead of mine.
Reached out to MSC several times and he never responded.
NARSUM Received: 1/4/24
NARSUM counseling and submitted: 1/5/24

What is the "hurry up and wait phase" exactly? And it sounds like you got assigned a terrible MSC.

My MSC has been very non communicative however I wouldn’t say he was terrible. My C&P exams happened fairly quickly. They added another condition to my MEB and I assume that was the hold up.

To my the hurry up and wait phase is when you’ve done everything on your end and you’re just waiting.

That's been my experience with the MSC as well. I reached out to him at one point after all of the appointments and got an email back telling me that he did not and would not be able to provide me with any information at all, and all communication was to go to the PEBLO once the C&P exams were over.

After coming on here, I've noticed a few folks were communicating with their MSC and that was my first notice that my guy was anything but normal lol.

My wifes MSC was useless. It really depends on your luck of the draw! I have seen on here where MSC's look at the Soldiers medical and help them claim items etc. My wife's MSC did the bare minimum and honestly did nothing more than help her fill out the initial claim forms. That's it.

How have people received their PEB timeline updates? My PEBLO doesn't seem interested in providing updates within the PEB process until it is fully over.

Many of us have contacted the PEB directly via their phone number at (571) 442-0592. It might take some time to get ahold of someone because the phone with either go straight to voicemail or it will ring with no answer. We have discussed the generic answers the board has given a few of us in other forums and have realized it is best to just let them be and not to call them but continue to just wait for the official word. Your PEBLO should be able to update you on the status periodically (I know you mentioned that they don't seem interested) and I recommend calling them once every couple of weeks, or once a week for an update. The most important update besides of course, the official findings, is the notice that your case is in QA Post-VA. That is when your QA time will start and can usually expect findings 40-60 days after that notice. Some get them sooner; some get them later on. The PEB is the hurry up and wait process because you have completed everything and are now on the board's time.

August 16th, 2023 - Referred to MEB.

December 12th, 2023 - First VA Exam.

January 20th, 2024 - Last VA Exam.

February 14th, 2024 - DBQ Findings.

February 28th, 2024 - Received NARSUM.

March 8th, 2024 - Sent to PEB.

March 13th, 2024 - "Claim Closed/Benefits Letter mailed" appears on VA.GOV.

Our timelines are close. Would it be realistic to assume I was found Unfit and might receive my PEB findings in the next 4-8 weeks?

I called the VA and was informed my claim was closed, and I have a proposed rating, but they are not allowed to tell me. I then contacted my PEBLO who told me they would tell me, but they will not know until the PEB sends the Findings to them.

Yes it would be very realistic. If you are same timeline as me you'd get it within 7-10 days. But everyone is different.
