Currently I am stationed in the KMC area and haven't seen any post talking about the timeline here. Here is mine:

I had an appointment with the physician who recommended me for my med board and was told I should expect my NARSUM within a week or so. It seems like my process is moving along quicker than most or at least quicker than I had expected. Anyone recently gone through this process in Germany?

You are moving quick. I am OCONUS as well, and from my MEB brief to signing my ratings, it was less than 3 months in total. I am now waiting to hear from Transitions and get my final out date. But when all is said and done, it will be about 3.5 months for me.

Update on my timeline:

NARSUM received: 11 March 2025

Referred to PEB: 13 March 2025

What is the average timeline to receive ratings? I'm trying set realistic expecations for myself. PEBLO says about 2 months but wanted to know other OCONUS experiences.

My PEBLO also said about two months and I was referred to PEB about a week before you. I have seen a case on here that was completed in a month but that seems like a one-off compared to most. I wonder if the number of claimed conditions has anything to do with how quickly it gets done?

I would assume it’s just based on their caseload. My concern is all the VA layoffs occurring and if that will have an effect on the timelines!

Here is my updated and final timeline from the Germany KMC area. While many people say there process takes a long time, I'm here to tell you that was definitely not my case. Best advice to all, is if you're wanting to separate or it's looking like you will separate, prepare yourself during the process. Get rid of excess things in your home and start planning for your life moving forward. I expected things to take much longer and hesitated to prep for my ETS. I'm now scrambling to accomplish the normal "PCS purge" while dealing with an international move. I did not rebuttal or appeal anything from my process and from initial start date to start day of terminal leave was 5 months. My expectation was 6 months before I would even know if I was being separated. So just be prepared mentally and physically. Also, the timeline for clearing is crazy! 26 days from your letter of release you will have to start leave. With German and American holidays along with the weekends, my time was crazy short. Ready the next adventure as soon as I finish out-processing. Good luck to you all.

Hi all and thanks for the forum..... I have a question. Can someone tell me how long does the officer grade determination board takes? I was referred in April 2025 for the AGDRB because of a GOMAR. I'm a CW3 and I submitted my retirement packet, which is what triggered the board. Thanks in advance.

If you’re referring to the med board side it depends by person not by rank. I’m an O3. I have been told if you are up for admin sep and medical separation/retirement, the command typically moves forward with the medical separation/ retirement. They have to see both processes through before anything decision will be made. Best of luck to you.

Mine is a retirement in Lieu of elimation because I have 21 years. However the packet had to go the the AGDRB. I been hearing 3, 6, or 12 months. Can't get a soild timeline.

Gotcha! I knew someone that went through the resign instead of elimination and that took a while. As you know everything in the Army takes forever. Maybe you can do TAP and CSP in the meantime?
