How much longer do you think?

I am wondering how much longer I have in this process and when I will receive my ratings.

Last week I got all of my DBQs back from my C&P exams. My PEBLO says she should have everything together to submit to AFPC in the coming weeks and a decision not too long after that. She didn't mention what she needs or how long that specifically takes, but I am very curious what people have been experiencing and realistically how much longer I have left.

My PEBLO is 99% positive that I will be out, but jobs have been not really wanting to realistically talk with me until I have a DOS and I definitely worry about supporting my family after this. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Each case is different. Also, you don't want to put yourself in a position where you feel compelled to accept the iPEB findings due to a job being lined up. It may be in your best interest to request a FPEB and or a VARR because the VA rated your unfitting condition incorrectly. I would wait until you sign your findings before applying to positions. I know that may seem contrary to what others say or do but I think its best to focus on this process and ensure you get the best result. Then when you apply you know where you will stand financially from the VA and or medical retirement/severance. Also, you will know your ETS date by the time you start interviewing.

Remember that if your conditions are PDRL then the results last a lifetime and so the financial benefits over a lifetime are a whole lot more than the monetary gain of a job lined up. Also, having a job lined up is no guarantee. Companies can and will withdraw offers if their situations changes.

Lastly if you are going to be TDRL then you may want to consider how attempting to work affects your condition. Sometimes its best to focus on trying to keep your condition stable for PDRL before adding more on to your plate.

I completely understand your logic on this. I hope that everything works out in my favor, but you are right that I may need to request a reconsideration. My VA exams went great in my opinion and the DBQs don't have anything missing that I would want to be on there, but you still never know.

Being that I am being boarded for MH, I think that I will be on TDRL. I am taking that into consideration and trying to move into a new field. Unfortunately, my wife does not want to work. She has her own health conditions and transitioning to a new job (she currently works from home) while I stayed home might be too much for her. It's a crappy situation to be in, but if I get the rating that I am hoping/expecting then I won't need to take on a super stressful job with a higher salary to live the same life I live now.
