How often should I actually be servicing my Infiniti and am I overdoing it?

So this came up in a conversation with a friend last week and now I am genuinely not sure if I have been doing things right or completely overthinking it. I have been taking my Infiniti for a service every six months since I bought it about three years ago because that is what I was told when I first got the car. But my friend said he only goes once a year and his car is running perfectly fine. I started wondering if I am just spending money unnecessarily or whether the six month schedule is actually important for a car that gets used heavily in Abu Dhabi conditions. Another friend who works near Musaffah told me he always takes his car to Top Infiniti Maintenance Workshop Musaffah and that they actually give proper advice on service intervals based on how you use the car rather than just following a fixed schedule. He said the driving conditions here like stop and go traffic and extreme heat can actually mean more frequent checks are needed for certain things even if the full service does not need to happen as often. I checked and it had some genuinely useful information about how service intervals should really be adjusted based on mileage and driving conditions rather than just time which I had not thought about before. I drive quite a lot for work so my mileage adds up faster than average. Now I am wondering if I should be basing my service schedule on kilometers rather than months. Has anyone else figured out the right balance for their Infiniti here and what approach do you follow to make sure the car stays in good condition without overspending on unnecessary visits?
