IDES Timeline

Has anyone received their findings this week?
No. My PEBLO hasn't replied to my email or called me back either. My attorney says just wait a little longer and see what happens.

Trying to take leave in a couple of weeks to get ahead of the transition curve. I've missed the fall semester-worried I'll miss the spring semester, can't secure a job with no actual date that I'd be back and housing is scarce. I don't have enough time to do VR&E or Skill Bridge.

I ask my PEBLO and my attorney about timelines so I can obtain and maintain a normal life outside of the service. I don't know what is goin' on behind the scenes, but, that doesn't make things any better for anyone enduring this process. I'm afraid that at the time when I was told "3-4 weeks" for determination, and "most likely waiting on DoD ratings" it'll turn into months later with no set in stone answer. Yes, I have a roof over my head, shower and sleep. Yes, I'm getting paid. But, that's only right now and that does not guarantee my future with a well paying job, a decent place to live, or my education to help improve all aspects of my life. I have goals, dreams and aspirations that I want to accomplish and I'm tired of the unknown that should have never been an unknown for all of us.

So frustrated my PEB was sent off July 15 and I thought I was done with all my VA appointments before then. However QTC just called me to schedule a appointment for one of my referred conditions which is migraines…

Hoping this doesn’t prolong my PEB process

You should go ahead and contact VR&E. I believe they want you to be a little closer to being out and not having much time left because they do need a proposed rating at least.

That's what I am trying to do.

You never know until you try.

Call everyone ask questions.

I've called several veterans organizations to see what resources and assistance they can offer. Just about everyone I have talked to has been nice and polite. Some say they can't help me because I am not considered a combat vet, some because I am still active duty. Most at the very least point me in the direction of another organization or send me some type of information resource.

You can start networking with companies, start going to job fairs and just meet the recruiters. Give them a resume and contact information. Be honest about your situation and show genuine interest in the company. Some may dismiss you but others will remember you.

Stop telling yourself "No." And let someone tell you "Yes!" or at least make them say the "No" to you.

I know this process is stressful and anxiety inducing. Trust me when I say that I am going through it as well and have the medication to prove it.

But we have to stick together and keep our spirits up. We need to celebrate the little wins we do have and the wins of the others here.

I hope you all the best of luck in life and nothing but the best for everyone here from now on.

If it is a referred condition that the board is considering and doesn't have all the information for it probably will delay your process some.

But honestly, that may be in your interest to be able to give you an accurate rating, ( read that as a higher one) with the correct information.

I know it is a punch to the gut but this process will end. It won't go on forever.

Use that time to work on your self even if that just means taking the time to do something that's on your personal to do list, like read a certain book, play that video game that you have been meaning to get around to, take some courses at college, or even learn how to weave baskets underwater.

We will make it.

102 days with the Medical Officer. What a bummer. My PEBLO did say that they’ve gotten results for people this week. So that’s something I guess.
Yeah, my PEBLO told me they got one back from April 16th this week, She's got one other from the same day and then myself on the 26th.

So my peblo called me and said the PEB reviewer asked for this appointment for the rater. Hopefully that means once they get that information it should move a little faster.. hopefully I don’t have to resubmit my package or anything

Congratulations. I'm at 374 days in IDES and 112 at the PEB. What was your day count when you received your findings? I'm actually at the MEB office now waiting to see the PEBLO supervisor. Apparently my PEBLO is only in the office on Wednesdays.

Make sure to ask your PEBLO where the case is at, I have confirmed through emails they get case updates where the case is at. I'm still considering whether I want to ICE my peblo for flat out lying to my face.

My assigned PEBLO did the exact same thing. He told me to call their PEBLO which I assume is their supervisor and he was the one that gave me the updates.

So looking at my findings. They didn't touch my case untill August 25th which was at 130 days at that point almost. Which I think is that same day i contacted the dude in DC and he started emailing the board to find out where my stuff was at. Interesting to me how they can literally just sit on the case.
