IDES Timeline

-AD NAVY-

Heard a rumor that the PEB has worked off the backlog of IPEB cases and stuff is moving faster. Can anyone confirm???
-AD USMC-

Speculating that the IDES runs off of updates from JDETS (Joint Disability Evaluation Tracking System,) I feel comfortable in saying the backlogging is accurate- not particularly that they have picked up speed in determining outcomes. I am a IDES case as of 29 June 2021, Submitted to PEB on 3 Nov 2021, and the case is currently residing with the Medical Officer (MO) as of 11 February 2022 (67 Days+)... meaning it was a floater on a desk for 100 days...In total I spent 127 Days in the MEB phase... 167+ days in the PEB phase... Overall total of 294 Days and counting. I have yet to receive findings, I am a physical case with 2 referrals. I was told by Head Quarters Marine Corps, DES Liaison, today (4/19) that those with only 1 physical referral are seeing their cases back quicker due to their packages being smaller and to the point for the officers to flip and throw.

Before you separate, where do you go to double check everything is spelled correctly that will be on your DD214?? I have been told this is important but don't know where to look. Thanks!
You will get an email saying a draft of your DD-214 has been uploaded to NSIPS. You have the option to either click “accept” or submit proposed changes. That way you won’t have any errors.

Anyone Now If We Have To Enroll into Tricare for retirees immediately after we retire when medically retired. I don’t need to use it until I have a family and I was wondering if I try to use it 4 years down the line they won’t let me. Not sure how this works

How long before your separation date did you get that DD214 notification?

I got the draft a week after my terminal leave started, one of my friends got his 2 weeks after his terminal leave started. It’s pretty much dependent on whether your command has their sh*t together, fortunately mine has a lot of med board/Limdu service members so they are better at handling separation paperwork than, say, another command with not a lot of separating service members (I’ve heard horror stories of people going months without a DD-214.)

Of course, the army has their sh*t together even more than the Navy and my army friends get theirs a few months before their terminal leave.

Was found unfit and signed findings 7APR. I accepted the unfit ruling but requested for a VA reconsideration of the disability rating. Is anyone aware of the timeline from here (nobody seems to be able to answer my question on when exactly I’ll be getting out!) For reference, I’m an officer with 4 years in.

So basically you can enroll right around the time you get out. But if you do not enroll around your retirement date then you can enroll later but you have to enroll during the open enrollment period which is in November. So 4 years later you can enroll just have to do it in November.

I just got my draft about a month after. My admin sent me an email letting me know it is ready. You can call if your in a rush or something. Do you guys all have a reserve obligation termination date on your dad-214 draft. I thought we don’t have that if we are medically retired. Not sure how that works

My Peblo said that they haven’t received any findings this week because the system the peb uses to process cases is currently down.

I imagine when one of us knows then we’ll all know since we’ve all been at QA for the same of time

Questio- the 6 mos post career tricare. My MSC and everyone said to call the day after ETS to get it but now I'm hearing the day before- which is it? I'm on hold rn, its the day after ETS for me.

Anyone get any sweet JDETS action today? I talked to my PEBLO around 0900est and he said he doesn't think they are going to put one out this week at all. So, it'll probably be next week. I swear to God if I don't have my findings next week I am going to punt the closest baby I can find into the stratosphere.

Was told the same today. Probably because of the Easter 72. Happens every holiday week.
