IPEB Update

Signed my NARSUM 18 JAN 2012, and PEBLO sent my case to IPEB on 20 JAN. VA/Ebenefits shows my compensation claim complete as of 20 MAR 2012, but upon closing/deciding the case they immediately opened another compensation claim on the same date (20 MAR)...WTF? I called VA 1-800# and asked why that happened and all they would say was 'contact your PEBLO'. PEBLO is clueless. Maybe this is an indicator that the VA is done with ratings and have sent/are sending them to IPEB? Anyone else have this happen? PEBLO will only say that he'll 'let me know when he receives IPEB response'.

It seems after reading other posts here that I may receive the IPEB decision and ratings (if any) soon. Am I tracking correctly? Thanks.

Call your MLC (Your VA liason). They can look in the real system vs. what the call center can see.

Did you ever find out what happened? It almost sounds like baltimore sent your VA claim to the Cleveland office, which I have read alot of on this Forum.

Sorry I haven't yet. Only just got back on here today. I hadn't thought about contacting the MLC/VA rep. I'll give that a shot tomorrow and come back and let you know. Thanks for the tip!

Ok I finally got ahold of my VA liaison today and he told me why the VA closed my case and reopened it on the same day...to improve their stats!! No excuses, and he just flat out told me. Aside from that he wouldn't tell me anything other than there are no problems or anything to be concerned about. You have the have patience of a Saint to play this freakin game.

I have a similar experience. My case was sent to IPEB on 17 Feb 12, E-Ben showed my comp claim complete on 16 Mar. I called them (VA) yesterday to try to get a guage on where my package is and they told me there were two claims in the system. One showed closed (16 Mar), and the other one was opened on 16 Mar. I asked why. The response I got was there may have been a discrepancy or a condition may need to be reevaluated. I also contacted my PEBLO asking what date ranges they were recieving back (meaning, are the cases submitted in Nov, or Dec, or Jan, etc the ones that are coming back now), he had no clue what I meant and could only tell me that the typical turn-around time right now is 100 days (Air Force) and that he will call when results come in. Originally, they told me 60 days. I keep thinking the same thing, that since my E-ben shows complete, and it has been around 60 days since IPEB submission, that I should hear something in the near future. This is a crazy waiting game that puts more stress on me than the conditions I was submitted for in the first place!! There has to be a way that the DoD can invent a tracking mechanism that would allow us to view its current location/status in the process. I am sure that tree has been barked up before tho. Good luck, and let us know when you hear something!
