How hard was it to get migraines added? I've got a good case (failed 3 different prophylatics, only semi controlled by ONB once a month for 5 months currently still get 1-2 migraines per week) just trying to get an idea of the up hill battle. Seen a lot of people on here struggle to get migraines added

I went through 3 different prescriptions and currently using an injectable. i wasn’t even concerned with adding migraines to my records so i couldn’t really say but as they did my narsum, they added it. i think w your history, you’ll have high chances to be able to claim it and get a good percentage.

Were you ever informed by your PEBLO about being unfit? Or just found out once ratings were closed?

Well yes you were aware of the conditions that didn’t meet medical standards according to the MEB which was put on your NARSUM.

I’m asking if the PEBLO/PEB ever let you know you were found unfit before your proposed ratings were given.

Your PEBLO usually knows prior to receiving your ratings. After like three weeks I asked my PEBLO if he knew I was found fit or unfit.

Question coming from 0331 AD Marine, what is the deciding factor between fit and unfit? Is it the lack of improvement over the next years and condition preventing mos work. My referred condition is transient alteration of awareness there is not much information anywhere on this “condition”.

My understanding is it's a mix of your medical record, your referral statement from your pcm, and your non medical assessment from your CoC.

The severity, likelihood of recovery, and affect on your ability to do your job are the factors used.

I, for example, just started my terminal leave after being found unfit due to "a migraine condition". That condition is the fact that I developed a headache sep 10th 2020 that has never stopped for even a minute. It spikes into fully debilitating migraines at least once a week.

My pcm told me he would have referred me to MEB just for the headache portion as constant, chronic pain was distracting me from work but the migraines where the nail in the coffin. I had 1.5 years of treatment and 2 limdu periods prior to being referred to MEB.

Your condition specifically I dont know but if, as a general rule, you would be a liability being deployed then odds favor unfit I'd have to imagine.

Thanks for the replies :) this process is pretty stressful because I try to have everything perfect but it’s not always gonna go that way lol currently at the C&P exam portion (VA exams) so hopefully out by November I know marines timelines have been longer…

IM READY TO GO. if your peblo sucks like mine, write as many ice complaints and request a different one. She definitely kept me in the dark and made me feel like an inconvenience each time i called. So i upped the frequency and started to not give a flying duck of actually calling/emailing each day. and now w my case slowly ending, i got issued a different peblo and she is ten million times better, phew. ( fyi, if your case goes to the VA for ratings, then you’re automatically unfit.) I was waiting solely for this info from my peblo and clearly asked many times before my case closed on VA(she never answered differently from “8-12weeks”), and she responded “…your case has ratings… so you’re unfit…” like she explained this beforehand

no she did not tell me! but if your case goes for ratings, you’re unfit most likely than not.
