Still waiting for my claim to close out on the app. I called the VA status line yesterday and they said that they have received everything they need but no one has started working on it yet :(, hopefully that will change soon though!

Just got this message from my MSC:

"Good morning:

Your claim has been assigned to a Rating Specialist. The case will be rated in the order it was assigned and in accordance with DRAS’ workload management policy.

Additionally, the claim can be pending for any number of reasons. Unfortunately, those reasons are outside of the scope of what I do as an MSC.

We just need to be patient.

Thank you for your understanding.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions."

At least I have an assigned rater now! Hopefully not too much longer :)

09/03/2025 - Received rating from PEBLO (80% VA, 10% DoD)
09/03/2025 - Signed in concurrence with findings.

The strange thing that I notices is the condition that I was actually being Med Boarded for (POTS, fainting 7-11 times per month) only for VA rated as 10% while my mental health was rated at 70%. That is also what my DoD rating is only 10% because the only "unfitting" condition that I have is the POTS, to me it feels very under-rated but I guess it is what it is.

what's the FSS email?

Update:
Sooooo... I guess there was a misunderstanding somewhere.

I signed all of the paperwork saying that I accepted my ratings but, long story short, my PEBLO submitted that I denied them. That being said, I now have my formal PEB hearing for 26 September, which my attorney from the ODC said we are going to wave, and then I will have 6 days to submit all of the paperwork for a VA reconsideration. Before that happens I need to get write ups from my doctors, husband, co-workers, and myself. All of this has just caused a lot more stress, confusion, and frustration with for me and on top of that they made me team lead at work so I have that on my plate too. It's all just a lot rn, that's why it took me a while to post an update. I guess I am glad that my ratings may improve so I am just trying to focus on that for the time being. I'll post another update when I have more information.

Update:

My VARR case was submitted to the VA yesterday. I asked my attorney and she doesn't know if the government shutdown will affect the timeline or not but hopefully it won't last for too much longer anyway.

Update:

Reached out to my attorney today and she let me know that they are not reviewing VARRs and cases are not progressing during the shutdown.

Of course no one knows when the government shutdown will end, but does anyone know if the Air Force is going to be processing separations for the rest of this year? I heard that they may have stopped processing them after 30Sep but I don't know if that affects medical separations as well.

I'm still hoping to at least be on terminal by Christmas time but now I'm not very confident in that.

Update:

My attorney called me on Friday and gave me the good news! My VARR has come back and I am not ay 90 VA 30 DoD meaning I will be medically retiring!

Now I just have to wait for my PEBLO to contact me so I can sign the paperwork, he is out of the office today so hopefully tomorrow!

I'll keep giving updates on how my separation process goes!

Shoutout to your damn PEBLO! You accepted your 10% (medical sep) / 80% VA rating and he looked out for you. Now you're going to be medically retiring and a higher VA rating. Great job to him. Congrats to you.

Does anyone know if they're issuing orders right now? My PEBLO told me that he would start processing my orders after I sent him my pre-separation worksheet (which I sent him on the 18th) but I'm not sure what that entails and he's not the easiest person to talk to.
