My situation is a bit weird, so I'm hoping to get some insight. The Army Board of Military Corrections granted my request to change my administrative discharge to a medical discharge in 2025. I got out in 2008. The only condition that was sent to the medboard was PTSD when it should have been multiple issues such as TBI and other conditions. The the personal for the informal board recommended they give me what the VA has me at (100% total for 5 issues). The informal board instead offered 30% permanent.
I appealed and was hoping the informal board would come back with a new rating before the formal. However, the lawyer assigned to me spoke with the informal board and apparently they didnt want to touch my case because it came from the board of corrections. That explained why they low balled my first rating.
So now my formal board is coming up and I'm not sure what to expect. My military service was 18 years ago. I have a ton of documentation but no buddy statements or anything. I'm not sure how to prove my case after so long. Any advice from the experts on here?
