Totally frustrated and lost. Not sure what to do.
Currently a traditional reservist
9 years active duty - 17 years total.
Started seeking medical treatment for my symptoms in 2018/19 after joining reserves in 2015. I was flagged for narcolepsy/migraines and assigned to Dawg.
Long story short, I told the dr I was seeking va connection for my ongoing issues when medical was writing original narsum. They told me to provide them my rating info and they would re submit an addendum.
April 2021 HQ AFRC placed me on an alc-c3 with a participation waiver that needed to be renewed annually. I was told to provide a overview annually and my local med unit was supposed to provide it to hq, summarizing my health status. April 2022 i submitted all documents to include my va rating as directed, which was 80% rated at the time. I also provided health impact statement etc.
Despite now being 100% permanent and total va rated, expressing the impact of my medical conditions, changes in medications, meetings between their unit and mine and in correspondence....
They have never re submitted my package to hq afrc sg for various reasons/excuses.
During my last 2 pha the flight dr are completely un aware of my multiple conditions or my ongoing struggles, alc status etc like I am meeting them for the first time ever.
The med unit has stated my conditions are not service related and won't expand on why that is what they are saying or answer any questions regarding usc 10, 8 year rule, dafi36-2910 etc.
They have tried to say I could just be admin sep if I keep pressing for review but they have never briefed me on lod request process etc. I have stated the impacts of my health during uta periods at my phas etc. I have told them among other issues the biggest concerns are i am struggling to meet standards and due to my narcolepsy I am at risk during my long commutes to uta (130 miles) and feel very fatigued behind the wheel needing to stop multiple times to stay alert.
They have not followed the hq afrc mandate to contact them annually as well as via phone with any significant changes to my health. They never re submitted for my waiver. They put me on a temp local 469 waiver while awaiting meb for 1 year. After the 1 year, they just removed the profile, as well as the af 422 (alc) document from asims.
All the while, they cleared me to re enlist stating my options were to stay in or admin sep.
In August they confirmed the rilo/narsum still had not been submitted.
This october, my unit met again with medical, tired of waiting I also had inquired to the myretirement option of "if you have 15 years and are ww dq, you can request transfer to gray area", medical told my unit that is not an option because my issues are not lod.
They also stated during the discussion that my narsum has been submitted up multiple times and kicked back to them for additional info. This is a shock to me. They have never informed me of the submission or asked me for any additional input.
After fighting this for 18+ months and frustrated, I told my unit and I finally submitted an IG complaint with all my supporting documents but if there is no fraud,waste,abuse or reprisal it won't be in their corner.
I feel like they are going to just keep delaying actions or push me out administratively despite telling them over and over the impact of uta on my health and my concerns as well as my va service connections.
Any advice or thoughts please share.
