So today I received the records from my QTC visits and found out on some of the assessments it was stated that I was able to do more than what I am currently able to do. For example, it states I am able to do heavy ward work, golf, or mow. Meanwhile for the past 11 months I have no been able to perform any of those proposed things as my heart condition has made it nearly impossible for me to walk down to the mailbox before having chest pain feeling fatigued and having shortness of breathe. Is there a way to fight this finding? They did a verbal METs test but was never asked what activities i could perform without any symptoms.

This has happened to a lot of people. Instead of waiting to challenge through a VARR you can submit to your claim a statement in support of claim. See this link: https://www.vba.va.gov/pubs/forms/VBA-21-4138-ARE.pdf Write about the discrepancies between what you said and what they wrote on your DBQ. I would also ask your doctor to fill out a DBQ that is accurate and submit it with that as well. A poor DBQ can be overcome if it doesn't match the rest of your documentation and you have an accurate DBQ to counter it.

So this form can be submitted prior to having to submit the paperwork for review? Sorry this is just stressing me out as I know I cannot do any of those activities

Yes. Your VA claim is still open. They don't give the ratings to the PEB until you are found unfit. Go to VA.gov and check out our claim. There you can upload this form and any other evidence you wont to support your claim.

Which form do I need to give to my cardiologist as he says he is unfamiliar with the whole MEB process? Also is this the form to have my wife or coworkers explain some limitations that have been a result of my Cardiac condition? Sorry for all the questions.

Have your Cardiologist fill out the same DBQ that your QTC doctor did that had discrepancies. Then fill out the statement in support of claim document explaining that the qtc doctor didn't ask you some questions and check some boxes wrong and that your doctor filled out a the same DBQ with the correct information.

Thank you thank you thank you where can i find the DBQ online so i can provide it to my cardiologist?

You will have to google for it. The VA does list them all online so you should be able to obtain it. If not ask for help from Peblo or legal.

I am in the process of building a house. We were pre-approved for the VA loan in December last year, and construction will be starting this month. I only learned that you cannot get the VA loan if you are within 12 months of ETS, unless you have a solid, verifiable job offer. However, the Navy keeps extending me 6 months at a time which means my LES will never show anything beyond that timeframe. The truth is that the VA home loan does not address us in IDES who have no control over the process. Navy Fed denied me because they said I needed a job letter or at least 12 months left on contract. We feel betrayed by this process in so many different ways. Any advice, based on experience would be highly appreciated.

I would talk to your lender and if no way around then I would seek a non VA option. Unfortunately, it looks like you are in a pickle. Maybe a proposed letter of VA ratings as proof of income for after you get out? Once out of the service you will have a pension and or VA disability compensation.

@Provis, thank you! I might be able to get a proposed rating in the next 4 months before closing. VA received my exams on December 14, 2021 so I might be able to use that.

I was just rated recently on interview METs as well and the interviewer marked other and said I dont experience symptoms from exertion even though I told him I do from walking with my family, playing with my kids and sexual activity. He also didnt mark a METS section, but under Functional Impact he marked Yes.

It doesnt make sense to me. How are they to rate my referred condition if there is no box checked and he just writes a comment that says "Veteran states during episodes it can be hard to function." Also it makes no sense when he didnt mark any symptoms in the check boxes, but in the comments he marked shortness of breath, dizziness, chest pain.

The only issue with this is that they make it seem like we can't challenge anything until we get the initial results back from the IPEB.

That's cuz the people in the process such as your MSC or your Peblo only know a narrow part of it. That's why I always recommend a dedicated private attorney for IDES.

Was this for a cardiac condition as well if you don’t mind me asking?

Do you know if any good ones that would work with someone from Texas? I just kind of want all my basis covered as this was so unexpected

Yes, I have Hyperadrenergic Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome which doesnt have a VASRD code so they have to rate it analogously which they chose to rate it under the METS scale.

Also, if you dont mind me asking, who was your QTC examiner because Im gonna make a bet that we had the same one if you are in Texas. Hell we probably went to QTC around the same time.
