Looking for guidance for military legal assistance (still in ARNG) or lawyers in Minnesota regarding a poorly handled LOD and whistle blow retaliation? History-I have a Miltary approved LOD from 2014. Injured in 2021 and the completed LOD packet was never submitted to NGB. Issue brought through COC(whistle blow) against 2 people, injured 2024 submitted LOD packet, thinking it would be a simple aggravation of previous military LOD injury, instead it is a LOD formal and I was not notified until 5 months after NGB sent memo, submitted 4 witness statements, and the IO has been investigating for the past 6 months & told me his findings/intent is “unfavorable in line of duty” and the only 2 people that he is getting information from are the same 2 people I brought issues up about and feel that I am a victim of whistle bowl retaliation? Where should I start? I do not trust my unit? Physical injuries require major surgery & my mental health is in the toilet?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated??

Might be worth hiring a private attorney. I know some good IDES attorneys that know the process well. Maybe they can at the very least point you in the right direction if they can't help you directly. These attorneys are the ones I recammend hiring if you want private representation for IDES.

This is an important and serious discussion, and it’s good to see service members seeking proper legal guidance and sharing experiences regarding formal investigations and military legal assistance, as having the right representation can make a significant difference in navigating complex military procedures and ensuring fair outcomes. Understanding related legal terminology and guardianship concepts can also be helpful in broader legal awareness, which is why resources like ward meaning child can provide useful clarity on legal definitions and responsibilities in child custody and guardianship matters, helping readers better understand how such terms are applied in real legal contexts.
