Hopefully they'll get to it before the weekend and they continue with unfit. The further I get the more nervous and worried I get. Wish me luck haha

Apr 22 - Local MEB referred me to IPEB. Received all of my VA exam documents. They only identified one disqualifying condition. As per my documents and all of the research I've done, the % from that one condition should get me to that 'magical' DOD mark as my VA DBQ indicates that condition be 50-70% VA rating.

Can anyone tell me how the DOD ratings match up against VA ratings? For instance, if the disqualifying condition is 50% VA, will DOD follow along? Or do they usually do their own rating? I appreciate any insight.

Your DOD rating for your referred condition(s) should match what the VA rated that exact condition(s).

"Within the DoD IDES MEB/PEB process, the DoD doesn't provide any PEB disability rating percentages. As such, the DoD must adopt (e.g., accept) the DoVA disability "proposed" ratings as determined by the DoVA D-RAS for all DoD PEB-referred unfitting conditions.
Within the DoD LDES PEB process, the DoD provides the disability rating percentages for all PEB-referred unfitting medical conditions in accordance with the 38 CFR VASRD. As such, the DoD isn't obligated to accept any DoVA disability rating percentages as determined by the DoVA Rating Agency."

Your DoD rating should be exactly what the VA gives you but only for the conditions that make you unfit for duty.

Example: If VA gives me 90 percent for all 11 of my claims added up but my condition that deemed me unfit only gets me 50 percent for that individual condition then I would get 90 for VA and 50 for DoD. Some people have multiple conditions that deem unfit that can be added up for the DoD rating. The DoD simply just doesn't count that ratings for the other conditions.

@d001 @KCAS00

Thank you for the information! Knowing this, I feel fairly confident to continue as it stands and no need to extend this processes longer than it needs to be. I appreciate it!

Apr 24 - Signed 618!

Can anyone inform me on what my temporary MSC told me today? I called asking for a status update on my claims and see if there were signs of an "unofficial unfit determination", she said "it's at peb and the VA is working on ratings." I proceeded to ask if she could tell me if it's pending dras, she said "yes, but all cases at PEB are pending dras". Is that true? I've read on here that cases pending dras are generally, if not always, unfit. I guess I was looking for a definitive yes or no because this hurry up, sign, and wait process is driving me nuts (as it does for all of us). Thanks for any insight.

@Itsbeingrouted

my msc had informed me that once he had received all of my exams that he was transferring my case to DRAS, this was before my local board/before I signed my 618 and before my case was sent to the IPEB. I’m not confident that pending DRAS = unofficially found unfit as implied by others on this forum.

Thank you. I'll be reaching back out to my peblo sometime this week to see if they'll tell me. Last time i reached out to peblo I was told "we're just waiting on ratings" so I'd venture to say it has made it past the determination stage and they're waiting for the ratings to be delivered. Only time will tell though.

Quick update! The VA informed me that I'm "JUST" waiting on proposed ratings. As we all are (haha) I was hoping it'd get picked up before the end of the month but I'll continue to wait. I felt bad as the VA rep said, "I see you called twice last week." Well sorry, this is kind of important in my life. Just keep waiting.

Man I feel this! Um I have to figure my life out I'm sorry. Its crazy I actually started my stuff before you so at least youre closer than me. I turned in my SHA to my PEBLO over 2 months ago, I was seeing on here that the average time between the SHA and the MSC contact was a couple days, so I reached out after a month... they said sorry there is 15 cases ahead of you expect an email the following week... a month later not a word. Now I'm just sitting on here all day creepy on everyone lol

That's wild. I hope they are able to work through those cases and get you started soon. I fear my luck of having a relatively quick process may be running out. As usual, only time will tell.

Well, I called my MSC last week and they told me they'll message the person handling my case over at the VA thus giving me my ratings this week. Only one question for the team here, has anyone seen their rating change from the proposed rating to when they actually get out? Thanks for all of the help with my journey. I'll continue to update with final out timelines and whatnot!
