Orthopedist just recommended MEB. What’s the process like from here?

Hey all,

I got a stress fracture training for an ultramarathon in 2019 that I thought would go away in a few weeks. Well after a P2 since then and exhausting all treatment options, it was just labeled as nonunion.

I’m wondering what the process is like from here? The ortho submitted the recommendation to the PCM and I made the appointment which is a few days away. I am located in Korea and my home of record is New York.

Thanks!

If you have more issues besides the stress fracture then go to the MEB. You must have a P3 to initiate the MEB. Ensure you have completed therapy, received shots etc. Keep in mind your chances of receiving a higher rating will base on all your service connected conditions.

Thanks for replying.

The appointment I have with the PCM is a follow-up to the MEB recommendation from the ortho. The ortho told me that the PCM appointment purpose is to initiate a P3.
