PEB Decision Notification

May I ask why you guys wish to appeal? Is it just to try to get VA 100?
At this point in time, the VARR only include the conditions that the AF deems unsuitable for service. At 10% he is looking at a separation. I would bet he is going to the FPEB to get a VARR and get his DoD rating to 30% for retirement.

And the differ the difference between the 10 and 30% is the severance check vs an actual pension correct?

If im not mistaken the difference is for separation you get a severance check but its a “loan” that has to be paid back. They take a portion out of your VA disability until its completely paid off. It’s supposed to help you get on your feet when you separate.

Retirement lets you have all the benefits of a regular retiree…tricare, access to base, things like that. You want to be retired just for tricare alone its worth it

Exactly, at least for me. I got 60% DOD and 90% VA. They gave me 0% in two unfitting conditions that I have a long medical history. I was just unlucky to get a bad QTC examiner.

Any updates? Let me know how long takes to get your rating back. My formal hearing is next week, but I'm just doing the VARR.
Sorry. Haven't been online here in a couple weeks. Took some much needed leave lol. But I submitted my VARR today. The legal team takes all the allotted time to put the VARR together. Mine was literally due by tonight at midnight. If you only want to do the VARR your attorney should be contacting you shortly to fill out an 1180 waiving your rights to FPEB and requesting a one time VA reconsideration. After you sign this your legal team will have 6 days to submit your VARR. After submission you will probably expect a 3 to 4 week return time, but it can come back sooner.

Yeah I got a bad VA examiner as well. I had my doctor fill out a letter and I am hoping that I at least get bumped up to retirement. On a positive note, the Air Force stated that my condition is permanent in nature so if I get bumped up to at least 30% I should be PDRL instead of TDRL. I asked for 100% though based on my symptoms.

Is there any way to check the status of your VARR? I’m on week three, and just patiently impatiently waiting. Been in this process since 2020.

I wish! My wife is 3.5 weeks into waiting and the waiting is killing us. Did you see any new claims opened online for the VA? She saw some new ones open and close last week. We are hoping that means the VARR is done on the VA side and then it just needs to get back and have the DA199 updated before signing.

I haven’t seen any new ones. Just the original ones. I’ll check again. Must mean they haven’t even processed mine lol. The wait is killing me too…. My usband is PCS to North Carolina. I took my 20 days of PTAD to go with.

I am going through the same process, on Thursday I had a new claim and it was closed on Friday, I called the VA and it was the proposed rating.

I submitted mine on the 23rd. Frustrating process.
And now we have to wait more time, currently the myPers is being migrated to a new IT platform myFSS, during the migration there are no disability case items processing between agencies
until the go live date of 27 Jun 22 at the earliest.

Is that for all disability cases? Where did you get the info from?

My PEBLO mentioned this to me. They’re not able to send my stuff to AFPC till the 27th

AFPC Case manager and my PEBLO.
I wonder if it applies to case that they have already been sent also. They got my case on 1 June. I hope they aren’t sitting on it till the end of the month to start
