Team,

Hoping to have some guidance. I was referred to the MEB for PTSD, one of my other big claims are migraines, the DBQ I received from my C&P exam isn’t horrible but doesn’t outline how bad they truly are or how much work I miss. Is it wrong to upload a memo from my current 1SG or a memo from my previous commander highlighting their experience with my issues to the va.gov claim?

Then in regards to support of my PTSD, is it an issue to type up on a word document a personal impact statement and my spouse do the same, then upload to the va.gov claim? My DBQ from my C&P exam isn’t bad, but I was in there all maybe 5 minutes and was very hard to express my circumstances and issues.

Also, I just noticed all DBQs uploaded, I have not received my NARSUM or anything yet. Just trying to be ahead of the power curve.

Definitely do buddy statements. For migraines if they are not a referred condition and you think it should be unfitting start preparing now to try to get it added. It never hurts to have coworkers and spouses to write letters or memo's on your behalf. It can only help. That goes for any condition for the VA rating regardless of if its unfitting or not.

Thank you for that! And I can upload those to the claim files on va.gov correct?

Yep! There's even an option to select what file type it is and there's one that lists the VA form for statement in support of a claim. It's best if you fill it out on that form.

Since it is your referred condition you can do a VARR when your ratings come back.

DoD is stuck with the VA ratings, so a VARR is your COA.
