Some background: TXARNG I injured my back on active duty After I got released from active duty I applied for VA benefits and got rated at 80% for nerves and back. My unit didn't initiate my LOD until March that's after I pressured them to give me a permanent profile L3. After that, I thought I just had to wait for my LOD approval and then the physical evaluation appointment except it never happened. Fast forward five months I talked to case management she said my profile was stuck at unit level saying pending commander approval. i talked to leadership and they referred me to someone else who as of today just told me my LOD got kicked back! Its OCT and i ETS JAN 15 2022. I'm desperate at this point I don't want to lose Tricare for life as I don't want to rely on the VA for healthcare it's horrible where I live. not to mention I would lose a 100% gi bill rating since i qualify only for pay rate 70% currently. My case manager did say I could extend but that's when you are in the medboard process not before. What can I do to get squared away? I don't want to be screwed over.

I would call your local congressperson for some help.
I would read the TXARNG policy / regulations on P3 profiles and what it says when P3 profiles must be submitted to IDES.
I would also read AR 635-40 and DA PAM 635-40 and find whatregulations say about P3 profiles and when it’s mandatory for the unit to submit the soldier to the IDES.
as far as I am aware, the soldier does NOT need an approved LOD to be submitted and start the IDES or LDES.
I would also talk to BN and BDE S1 and retention office about doing a normal extension / reenlistment and if it’s possible to do that with a P3 profile.

Thank you to all who commented on my post so quickly lately my back has been kicking my ass so I haven't been able to reply. It seems I still have a lot of work to do to get the wheel spinning. I will contact IG first then start sending phone calls and emails so this doesn't fly under anyone's radar. I'm not too worried about skipping rank i don't have much to lose. Thank you! vets for the much-needed insight
