Long time lurker here......

Been going through this process since mid June. Had my last appt around the end of September. Submitted my MEB package 31Oct24. Found UNFIT 05NOV24.

Since then it feels like I've been in a perpetual stand still! My PEBLO is responsive and i have a contact that is also able to check the status and it's been pretty stagnant. I hate that i feel like I'm being annoying asking what feels like constantly but there's a reason. I secured a job for after i get out already and they are aware and ok with me having to extend my EAOS from Christmas to 25Mar25. But not having a clear date to tell them i can go to orientation is really making me anxious. It's been setting off the bells and alarms of uncertainty that puts me in a panic. Is there a way I can check for myself to not be a thorn in my PEBLO's side?

Also any help with ways to calm my anxiety is also appreciated.

WELLLLLL, to be blunt, the reason why I've been on here so much is that there's a group of us, all around the same timelines and I'm watching to see A) if someone gets their stuff back so I can anticipate my own and B) let everyone else know because I KNOW that all of us in this group are doing the same exact thing. I'm expecting my own PEB results in a span from 1/7/25 to 1/14/25.

The thing that's helped me through this is a "Date Calculator" where I've been consistently able to figure out when stuff will come back based upon others' dates within +/- 5 days so far. For instance, the maximum time between PEB submission and VA ratings return I've found was 84 days within the past 5 months, so I use that as my maximum benchmark. I came back at 79 days. It's helped, somewhat, and when that's not enough, I research the next steps so I can jump on the next process and understand the pitfalls prior to.

It's not much, but it's kind of all there is given how opaque the process is. I hope this helps relieve it a bit.

That does seem like that would be extremely helpful. Thank You! I'm going to make researching this my pet project of the day haha.

Also, how did you see that PERS accepted your package for retirement??

PERS doesn't really have a choice. The PEB paperwork gets sent to them once you accept the findings, and they have 6 days to cut you orders. Then there's a message that comes out with your name and a No Later Than (NLT) date on it, and orders are transmitted shortly thereafter. Apparently this message comes before the orders do, but I've seen some ambiguity on this.

Do you accept your PEB being fit or unfit at the same time you get your proposed ratings? or is that supposed to be done earlier? Because I haven't signed anything since i submitted my NARSUM.

It comes back with an UNFIT, DoD%/VA%. If you're due a severance, then it's put into that paperwork as well, etc. If you're found fit, then you're just returned to duty, with or without limitations and that's done WAY before you get to this point in the process.

@Rekmor I just realized you have this in your timeline: Dec 10: Package accepted by PERS for initiation of retirement
Where did you get that info? I'm also confused on how that took place before you got your findings. My understanding is they wait for you accept/deny findings before initiating anything in case you try to fight the determination.

my navy portal, click your name at the top and click "case status". It shows up for MyNavyHR stuff.

I'm assuming yours also said "
Notification of Processing – Sailor pending PDRL, TDRL, or SEPSEV decision."

Yes that’s what mine says as well dating 09Dec
Mine was the 13th. My NWW rep told me today that I should hopefully hear back NLT than next Friday.
We are so close I can taste it lol

Ugh that’s so reassuring I’m really banking for something this week. Hopefully orders come in quick after we accept. I saw someone in the group say PERS has 6 days to cut orders but my command told me it can take up to 6 weeks to get orders.

Sorry, kinda hijacked your thread today.
I completely understand what you are going through and the anxiety has been killing me as well to the point it was also affecting my wife. The biggest thing that has helped me was to just celebrate every win, every step, no matter how small. I was lurking forever on this forum as well and started getting excited every time I saw a fellow sailor get closer to getting through this mess. As much as I hate the waiting I celebrated that I received another pay check last week. There are always bright sides to every crappy situation.
You already have a job lined up and I think that is amazing. You stated they were aware and ok with you extended your time so that's perfect. I have known several people in your shoes and not one of them had issues with their employer as most of them know its out of our hands.
I hope this helped a little. You are nearing the finish line my friend
