Good and bad news...
The wonderful news is that someone at the DAV just let me know my claim is currently rated at 80%!! I am very happy and shocked to see that. The total claim is still not finalized, so some are still pending, but the finalized ones are Mental Health for 70%, Sleep Apnea for 30%, Right Knee Meniscal tear and Tinnitus/Hearing loss 10%. IBS, Hemorrhoids, ED, and Migraines all four rated at 0%.
The migraine rating at 0%, as well as my back pain claim being flat out denied, is the bad news. First off, I am quite shocked about my migraine rating. My symptoms clearly line up at 50% -- I get multiple migraines a month that are completely debilitating and prostrating (which I made sure to say at my C&P exam. Which the examiner then marked down that I have very unfrequent, non-prostrating migraines.) They caused me to miss work a LOT. Whether that be hiding in dark and quiet room for the rest of day, driving home if I could stand it, not coming in at all or going to the ER/Urgent Care. Someone clearly missed something.
Also quite upset about the back pain claim. I clearly made a mistake when I was a brand new airman; being scared of getting in trouble for saying I am brand new airman with back pain -- I feared trouble and questioning for saying my back hurts immediately after joining, I said I sometimes had a little back pain before service. However, now, my back hurts every single day with a night and day difference of debilitation and a limit to my activity level (from working out, lifting weights, running, hiking, camping, and going out socially; to now I am literally unable to workout or be active.)
Obviously, as things are still pending and are not FINAL FINAL, things could still change, but I do want to get out ahead of things because I need to fight this as I am completely unable to work -- I cannot even leave my house most days.
I live in the Saint Louis area if anyone has any recommendations. Any and all help is appreciated, and please ask questions if I missed anything or if I may provide more insight, etc. The person at the DAV suggested I get a private doctor's opinion about my back, and to start logging my migraines (again).
Thank you all for your time to read this and your help if you choose to comment.
