So, I was placed on the TDRL in 2003 at 30% for Crohn's disease. Had my VA rating a month later, also 30%. I was on TDRL about 2 1/2 years and was then removed and separated with severance at 10%. The thing that bothers me is that my condition never changed the whole time. But, I was out, and was managing to hold down a job (with some awesome bosses who were pretty flexible about my hours). The audio recording of the PEB I have has one of the board members explaining that this an "exacerbation driven rating", and seemed to believe that my symptoms couldn't be too bad if I had a job. How else is one supposed to survive??
