TDRl or PDRL?

So I'm currently awaiting my VA ratings for Bipolar 2. I have not had an episode or anything of concern since my diagnosis back in 22. My treatment team considers me stable. My question is what is the likelihood of being put on TDRL? I just want out of the military, it is not beneficial for me or the Air Force to have me sitting in a chair here. My EOS is January of 24 and I don't really want to be obligated past that.

Im going through the beginning stages of my bipolar 1 meb. Can you tell me the timeline of your process so far?

This is a rough one. I didn't completely keep track

  1. Beginning of September 2022 - Initial brief with PEBLO. I also met with my mental health to assist in writing an accurate NARSUM. CIS said do not retain written and submitted to PEBLO.
  2. October 2022 - NARSUM completed and sent to PEBLO
  3. November 2022 MEB directed.
  4. December 2022 or January 2023 - MSC contacts me to file my claims.
  5. February through March of 2023 had 4 C&P exams
  6. End of April DBQs were uploaded. Called into PEBLOs office to sign findings and route to AFPC
  7. May 19th AFPC deemed me unfit and routed to VA for ratings
I probably missed a few steps but this is roughly what has happened so far. I regret not taking LDES over IDES I'd maybe be free by now. Good luck to you. This process can be frustrating

Either way, you are essential done. Most TDRL, get one more evaluation and then put on PDRL.

Thank you for clarifying that. I thought there would be more involved.

Check out this link about TDRL from a private IDES attorney. It gives you a good roadmap on what to do when you get out.

It is almost a certainty that you will be TDRL, however, as Chaplain Charlie pointed out, you will most likely never have to go back active duty unless you really really want to. Expect TDRL, then with a year or so you get another exam and usually PDRL after that.
