Gooood afternoon y'all,
Been struggling with this for going on 5 weeks now. I accepted my unfit findings and requested a VA Rating Reconsideration on my referred condition on June 27th. As stated, I have been waiting 5 weeks as of today and still nothing. My attorney states they don't inform him of anything, so he doesn't know. I ask my PEBLO every week and she says she hasn't heard anything. She clearly won't look further into it.
Today when I emailed asking for an update, the PEBLO referred me to the VA MSC, saying she might know something. I called the MSC today and she stated that there is nothing pending in the VA system but she is going to email DRAS and see where my case is at/if my VARR was ever processed through. She was going to check the tracking system but of course it was down today. I have already done my exit interview since the MSC was originally under the impression that the DOD rating doesn't change after accepting findings, even if you submit a VARR (she learned that this is not the case today). I explained to her that I accepted the findings but requested the VARR on my referred condition, and she agreed that this is something my PEBLO should be looking into since the VARR goes to Washington to determine if there is enough new evidence to even send to the VA for the reconsideration.
I have seen a few other service members be waiting for their VARR just like this and it turns out theirs was either never even processed and had their case closed without their knowledge or the VA denied the VARR and they had a separation date out there and never even knew. I've talked to my command and they've just said to wait for the VARR, but I don't want to be idling around if I could be getting out/have gotten out already.
Does anyone have any experience with this/have any advice as to who might be able to see what is going on in the system with my VARR? I've exhausted every resource to my knowledge. Any help would be appreciated.
