Why Was My Social Security Disability Claim Denied and What Can I Do Next?

Hello everyone.

I recently received a denial letter for my Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) claim and I am completely lost.

I have a legitimate medical condition that prevents me from working yet the SSA still rejected my application.

I have heard that most initial claims get denied even for people who genuinely qualify. Has anyone else been through this process?

What were the most common reasons your claim was denied? Did you appeal the decision and was it successful? Should I hire a disability attorney?

Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Definitely hire an attorney. Most people can work. The bar is very high to get SSDI. You have to prove that you can't do any job at all. If you can sit for example in a chair you are employable for example and they will state that you can work at a booth collecting payments. It's super hard to get SSDI. Even if you fully qualify it can take years to get it.

What conditions are you trying to get SSDI for? Are you service connected for the same?
