Will PEB case backlog affect receiving medical retirement orders?

I have been hearing/reading that the PEB is backed up on 900 to 1400+ cases from the shutdown. Luckily I received my findings from when my case was submitted (17NOV25) to the PEB on 08/09DEC25. Sent back to the PEB in the say day. Now waiting on orders. My concern is will my case be placed in the backlog to be reviewed to send to PERS for orders. Also if anyone have a good gussetimation on how long it that to receive orders. Asking because there are some jobs that I would like to apply for but really can't. TIA

Yeah, I heard the same thing. Cases that were submitted before or during the shutdown are being worked on now that the PEB system is back online. They’re not being ignored, but because the system was down, everything got delayed, and now those cases are just waiting in line like everyone else. There’s no official timeline for when you’ll get your findings or orders, but the backlog seems to be just a processing delay. If your case was delayed by the shutdown, expect it to take some time before you get orders. But it could also be faster if your case is simple and the board is moving quickly.

I have signed my findings. From my understanding once you sign them your PEBLO send them back to the PEB to sent over to PERS. I was told mine were sent back the same day. Just wondering is my case caught up in the huge backlog waiting to be sent over the PERS.

The JAG I spoke to when I was submitting my paperwork to the IPEB (29 Dec) said to expect to receive everything back mid-March and if "all goes well and its what I want" he said "late-April to mid-May" before DD-214 in-hand. So he was expecting 6-8 weeks after signing findings. This was also using the assumption that the gov't doesn't shutdown again next week

Update: Put in a case with MNCC and was told it was assigned and at TSC Norfolk. Hoping to receive a "soft" EOAS soon so I can start applying for jobs.

MNCC: My Navy Career Center
EAOS: End of Active Obligated Service
"Soft": dated set to get out with orders to follow.

Sorry, I meant the "case" with MNCC.. Is that just to inquire when you can separate?

Pretty much. Make sure a request was put in for medical retirement and where was it at being processed.

Curious how your turnaround was only about 3 weeks when your case was submitted after the gov't shutdown...interesting. I believe mine are getting sent to the IPEB today or tomorrow and will post how long mine take to receive findings but I'm hoping for a turnaround like yours, lol.

I have the same sentiment

Sorry I miss spoke on the date I received my findings. Was a month off. I received them 08/09Jan26. I am pretty sure they were completed before then and held on to until after the Christmas and New Year stand down. Reason I say that is on 15Dec25 I did my monthly check in and my PEBLO told me I was found unfit and my case had been sent to VA and back at the PEB for adjudication. So yeah it was pretty quick. Quicker than I expected. Now the real hurry up and wait beings. Waiting on retirement orders. I wish you go as quickly as mine or faster.
