Requested VA rating increase, now going through MEB process

Any guidance is appreciated.
I am a current reservist with 15.5 years AFS, 18.3 years Total Points and 29 "Good" Years. 5 years ago went through MEB and was allowed to stay in. VA gave me 10% at that time.
9 months ago, I notified VA of my intent to request an increase in my ratings. (I understand I have one year to get them the paperwork/evidence of increased disability. Then COVID hit and I have not taken any additional actions.)
My command has now referred me (again) to a MEB due to my increased limitations (dead man walking profile, etc... I expect that I will receive 30% DOD. and 50-60% VA.
Will my VA % increase be backdated via information from the MEB process since I had already started the VA process?
If the MEB process goes past my VA notification one-year mark, will this cause me to lose my ability to have it backdated?

Thank you for any assistance.

I believe your unit should put you back on active duty orders to go through IDES if the referred condition was caused by or aggravated while on active duty orders. If so, there is no worries about backdating because you can't collect VA disability when active duty.

Provis,
Thank you for the information. The original injury occurred while on Active Duty 20 years ago. Since then, I left the active force and went into the reserves.
It was while in the reserves, that the unit sent me for the MEB about 5 years ago. I did confirm with my command's medical team that they have submitted all the documents to initiate a new MEB and they said that a rep should be contacting me soon concerning this MEB.
Clarification - Are you implying that the reserve unit should put me on active orders for the duration of IDES process? This is not what happened last time. Last time I continued to drill and when they came back and said that I could remain, the VA started paying me and continued my drilling status with a permanent profile.

It is my understanding that if it happened while on active duty orders you should be put on active duty through the reserves to go through IDES. I'm guessing last time you went through this you went through the legacy route. Typically the only reason you wouldn't be put on active duty orders to go through ideas is if the injury or illness wasn't due to an LOD.

Provis,
That would make an interesting scenario since my reserve unit is hundreds of miles away from home of record. Do you know if "activation" can be declined?
(Due to my civilian position, I can pretty much make my own hours, come and go as required. They are very supportive of any/all of my needs related to military duty)

It's not required:) So you don't have to if you don't want to.

This forum and everyone (this means you) have been a huge benefit.

Thank you again.
