Any guidance is appreciated.
I am a current reservist with 15.5 years AFS, 18.3 years Total Points and 29 "Good" Years. 5 years ago went through MEB and was allowed to stay in. VA gave me 10% at that time.
9 months ago, I notified VA of my intent to request an increase in my ratings. (I understand I have one year to get them the paperwork/evidence of increased disability. Then COVID hit and I have not taken any additional actions.)
My command has now referred me (again) to a MEB due to my increased limitations (dead man walking profile, etc... I expect that I will receive 30% DOD. and 50-60% VA.
Will my VA % increase be backdated via information from the MEB process since I had already started the VA process?
If the MEB process goes past my VA notification one-year mark, will this cause me to lose my ability to have it backdated?
Thank you for any assistance.

So you don't have to if you don't want to.
