IDES Timeline

Just got my VA rating, 60%. I have a VSO as well as MSC, and they both advised me (obviously can't say what's connected, what's not, what I got rated for etc) on what to do to do as soon as I'm out, I can put in for an increase. Was talking to my MSC and she said the contracted doc that did the head to toe really screwed me up in the exams. I got a few months for that, so I"ll take the time waiting for this medboard decision to do those things help lol
who will help you to file for the increase. I am in the same boat and have no idea how to file a claim.

I have a VSO I've been talking to since prior to my medboard. He will be the one that'll take over once I'm out.

Just make sure that you get everything possible documented in your medical record while you're still active duty. As long as it's in your AD medical record, it should be fairly straightforward to file a disability claim with the VA and establish service connection.

Yeah it doesn’t take long to get to the Medical officer sometimes but once it hits that stage, then that’s the real waiting game lol
I know someone who was a week behind me in submitting and he was told today that he should have answers in 30-40 days from today. I think the PEB is starting move a bit faster.

His are those of you getting your narrative summary convincing the Va? No one will give me my summary or proposed

I wouldn’t count on it. It’s at least a six month wait once your package is submitted. They’re still processing July cases.

Anyone know what this means?!

Case accepted by PEB 1 July.
VA closed my case out 16 Dec.
On Dec 28 my S1 recurved an email from my PEBLO stating the PEB requested my VA exam docs on 12/21 and she hopes the case will be closed soon.

Why would the PEB request the VA exams and what does that mean?

They are processing some august cases as of today. Saw it on the Facebook group.
My case has been in the adjudication phase since August. I talked to the lawyer yesterday and he said it is now in the post adjudication phase, but the PEBLO said she has not seen anything yet. I'm beginning to think it's all just a crap shoot. I started the process in December 2020

I feel like some peblo's are better then others in this regard. My Peblo has been amazing, I've been getting updates every step of the way and no having to worry if something isn't getting done that should be.

The PEB and the VA have to do a side-by-side kind of process. They work independently then come together at the end to get a general consensus on your referred conditions. The PEB (for your DOD ratings and unfit/fit) has to look at the VA's opinion of your referred conditions before they can make the final call.

Question.

One of my friends AD USMC, had an email come in requesting her MEPS records. From her. Shouldn't they already have access to that? Is it our base medical's fault or is it the fault of our admin or...the PEBLO? She's been looking for answers and I'm not sure.

(Btw our MEPS records are in OMPF, everything is electronic now within the systems so we don't have access to physical copies so I know it's not her fault for the PEB not having the records).

I had the same thing back when my PEB began. Its usually found in your online military personnel file under your accession package. Sometimes it isn't in your physical or electronic military medical record.
