My 20 Years SAT SVC falls on a partial year. It is 6 days into my new R/R year. My packet is currently at the informal board stage. My packet is an NDES packet and I am sure I will be discharged. With my 20 year date falling on a partial year is there any regulation that will keep me from geTting the partial year credit at discharge.? I am extremely nervous since 20 yrs SAT SVC allows me to get CDRP.

You need to hit 20 full years in service to get 20 year letter. The 20th year must be fully completed.

MYPERS sent me an email that verified that I needed 1 point by 6 Jan 2023 to hit 20 years. This R/R year is a partial year no matter what because I hit my high year of tenure (age 60) part way through.

Re: “Defining a Good Year in the Guard/Reserves: A "Good Year" in the Guard or Reserves means the servicemember earned a minimum of 50 Points. Service that results in fewer than 50 Points in a given year will not count as a Good Year. The Points still count toward retirement, but the servicemember doesn't get credit for a Good Year.”

I am just an observer in this thread since I did not have a reserve retirement, but in most matters, I don’t trust small margins (for possible) error.

@Provis can likely cite the law that prescribes the completion of the 20Th year.

Good luck,
Ron

Yep. If you don't hit 20 good years with 20 years of active service as a reservist you won't get your 20 year letter. If you get out via chapter 61 short and below 30% DOD you will end up with a 15 year letter which doesn't qualify for CRDP but will afford you a non regular retirement at eligible age.
