Am I on the P&T list?

I've been 100% disabled since 2014, but nobody has ever told me whether it's permanent and total and I don't know where I might find that out. I had a re-exam like 5 years ago but nobody told me if I went from TRDL to PT. I asked my doctor and he was no help, said "all he can see is that it's 100%."

My treatment hasn't changed and I'm still on meds. I'm worried that if I try to get a job they'll take away my disability, and then I'm going to end up needing it again.
 
Do you know what your final % was for PDRL? That amount would be locked in regardless of what the VA rates you. So basically that is the floor for compensation.

I don't know whether I'm on the PDRL, that's the thing.

Are you speaking of VA compensation? The VA uses the term T&P (total and permanent). My rating from the VA is 100% T&P.
I do not have a DoD rating.

just guessing, I don’t think the DOD uses T&P; it is just permanent and is not subject to reexamination (for PDRL).

If your VA Award letter states you are eligible for Chapter 35 benefits—then you are T&P by the VA.

Sorry, I mean T&P. And yes, talking about VA. Don't recall ever getting an award letter. All they told me was that it was 100% TRDL because it was a mental health condition that could change. Never received any kind of letter telling me this had changed to T&P or that I was moved to the permanent list.

The VA does not use the term TDRL.

The info at the VA site will show whether your VA rated condition is considered Permanent. Total means 100%.

Recommend you visit a VSO for assistance.

I was finally able to find the letter. Thanks for your help.
 
VA App-->Benefits (tab on bottom, Android Version)-->VA Letters and Documents--->Review Letters (it's in Blue)-->Benefit Summary and Service Verification letter-->look where the section says (VA Disability rating and compensation information)---> Review Letter (in blue)--->gives a PDF then scroll and see where the section that says: You are considered to be Totally and permanently disabled due solely to your service connected disabilities: (YES or NO will be stated...)

Re: Confusion:

It was difficult to address the issues in this thread since apples and oranges were mixed.
The Term T&P = used by VA, not the DoD
The terms TDRL & PDRL = used by the DoD, not the VA

If one is placed on the PDRL (Permanent Disability Retired List) by the DoD, the retiree is not subject to reevaluations.
If one is placed on the TDRL (Temporary Disability Retired List ) by the DoD, there will be at least one reevaluation.
Neither of those two statuses are controlled by the VA.

The significant amount you receive at the end of each month appears to be VA compensation. The DOD does not control that rating. The VA makes those determinations and awards.

Many people rated by the VA are “Total” which simply means 100%, but not necessarily “Permanent“. Often mental health issues are rated without the designation of “Permanent”. I am rated Total (100%) and Permanent (for cancer) by the VA.

I am glad you found a letter that evidently clarifies some of the matters discussed here.

Recommend reviewing the helpful info furnished by @aburns7487 .

The services of a VSO might help too.
