Navy Timeline - Millington, TN

That would be extremely fast. Im not expecting anything until middle to end of March. Unless the Navy finally got their stuff together and actually started processing cases in a timely fashion. Where do you all see youre in QA? My ratings were sent to the VA the 22nd as well.
My VA proposed ratings were sent to the PEB 14 DEC, and my decision letter from the VA was dated 20 DEC. I spoke to the PEB last week and they told me they reviewed my case and sent it back to the VA. The VA has returned my case to the PEB and my PEBLO today told me it is now in DoD ratings / QA as of two days ago and it has already been adjudicated. She told me this process on average can take 1 to 3 weeks before findings are released to her. That is why she is telling me to call back weekly for updates. Hopefully the Navy starts finalizing cases quicker now that the holiday period is complete.

I am in same boat. My case was in QA. Sent back to VA for correction and now waiting on it to get returned. Besides the obvious delay in getting out, do you have any idea if this is a good thing or bad thing in regards to level of ratings for both DOD and VA? I thought they were separate judgements and work independently in their decision of ratings.

They are separate ratings and they are determined for two separate potential benefits. I was told that it could be a good thing if they send it back to the VA because the board saw something the VA might have missed. Most of the time being sent back from what I have read and been told is more for a justification purpose for the PEB. Of course, I am no expert but just relaying information. I am hoping that we all get our cases back soon. For me to be in this process for 11 months already is extremely frustrating and I feel as though it should not take nearly this long.

It shouldn't but this is typical Navy.

Update 01 FEB 2024
Spoke with my PEBLO today, findings have yet to come back. From the update she received she is hopeful they will be back Monday (or sometime next week before Friday).

Just want to update this thread often to keep everyone updated on how my process is moving along for comparison to those with similar timelines.

That seems incredibly fast!

That was my thought, but some have had similar timelines in the forum. Whether this update is accurate or not (I am hoping it is), the only hope is to hear they do present findings next week.

Youve got me hopeful now! Stop, I know this is not the Navy way...

I went into QA 02 JAN, PEB accepted 20 NOV.

I called the PEB this week and they said I have 3-4 weeks before findings ~400 cases in front of me. I'd call PEB rather than PEBLO for updates. All my PEBLO can see is that I am in QA. The PEB has been extremely backed up in QA so the normal 1–3-week wait has been 45-60 days.

Hope we all get findings soon!

I might go ahead and give them a call again. I called them once a few weeks back and the guy I spoke to was not friendly or helpful. Just mentioned bare minimum status and no timeline and was not willing to share any information that I inquired about.

I think it is interesting how other branches have strict timelines for the MEB & PEB phases, but the Navy is just all over the place. I too hope that we all get findings back here soon! Thanks for the update on your status.

Has anyone reached out to their Congressional Representative for a congressional inquiry? It seems like this process is truly zero accountability on behalf of the Navy. No way should there be people waiting more than a few weeks after their VA ratings are returned. I mean, how hard is it to A. marry the ratings up and move on. B. Return found Fit C. Return to the VA (All of which should trigger a message to the member) Its crazy Im planning on having to plan a move and get out of here within 10 days of finally getting retirement orders.

I have not reached out. Another member I read has reached out to their congressional representative. I don't know if they had any luck. If anything, I wish they had a member portal like LIMDUSMART is for the MEB portion but for the PEB. It is hard to plan anything for the next chapter until you get that date or even your findings which only adds to the stress level.
Only getting 10 days is wild. I figured they would give you at least 45-60 to out process and retire.

I'm honestly getting sick of how long this process is taking. After I got my 70% proposed rating(added new claims since then). I should've been done in a matter of weeks., I just called them and they told me it will be another month.

That sucks. Im around the same timeline as you are. About a month left for my case to come back from PEB.

So how many months after your final proposed ratings have you been waiting on the Navy's decision? My VA claim has been closed and I have my propsed VA ratings letter, is it about 6 months from then? Or is "QA" starting the day the PEB receives your ratings?

I have sent a message to my Congressman this afternoon, there is absolutely no reason it should be taking this long to process PEB's. If anything, imagine being this far behind on 3M maintenance, you would be working 12 on 12 off 7 days a week.

So my understanding of how it works, and this is coming from the guy in DC that works the PEB phone, is that once ur proposed ratings are completed by the VA nothing is done until the DOD/PEB requests those ratings. The VA does not send them automatically. MY Ratings were done by the VA on the 27NOV23 but the VA didnt request them until 16JAN24. The VA sent them on the 18JAN24. All that time inbetween 27nov and 18Jan is dead time where nothing is happening and my case was not progressing. Its a super inefficient way to do it.

Roughly for me when I got my VA claim closed in early January they told me I had 2 to 3 months
