IDES C&P question regarding completed exam and new evidence

Hello,

IDES is unique in how limited the service member is in regards to tracking claim progress on the VA website although extremely beneficial for other reasons for service members.

From my understanding of BDD, you can submit evidence very similarly to a FDC, and see it attached to claims within the whole process... usually. I know IDES is NOT BDD and submitting a BDD if going through IDES is a moot topic since IDES should be all the claims you want the VA to rate on your exit from the military. I am also aware trying to submit a BDD usually rolls its all into the final claim with IDES on exit from service.

Regardless, my question stems from the expedited and closed nature of the IDES process and may only really be answerable from someone who has worked in the MSC position before, but I thought I would give it a shot and ask here.

I was scheduled for my GenMed C&P exam which included multiple conditions and sleep apnea was rolled into this exam. I was also scheduled for a sleep study which was after my GenMed C&P, and I stupidly assumed they would await the results of the sleep study before submitting the DBQ for sleep apnea.

I went to see the same contracted provider who did my GenMed C&P for my last scheduled exam, it was for audiology. I brought the sleep study results that were completed and hoped they would have already received their copy from the contracted sleep study provider but they stated that they had already submitted all of the GenMed DBQs.

What can I do here? I asked them to please reupload the sleep apnea DBQ with the new information but they were unsure how that would play out. I submitted the sleep study results directly to the VA through QuickSubmit. I emailed the contracted C&P scheduler for the sleep study and explained the situation. I also emailed my PEBLO and MSC so they were also aware of the new sleep study results that were not accounted for in the submitted sleep apnea DBQ.

Should I just wait? Will VES possibly catch this in QA (I don't know how much I should trust that.) Will the VA see the new sleep study and rate accordingly? Should I try and ask for an ACE/re-exam for sleep apnea? It is not one of my referred conditions so I doubt that would work well. Should I submit a separate BDD claim with just sleep apnea to upload the evidence?

I am unsure of the direction to take, any insight would be greatly appreciated. With how new IDES is and all the mystery around it in regards to internal knowledge, this may be a question I would just really need the MSC to answer, anyway, thanks if you can provide some guidance.

If you fill out the form of statement in support of claim and include the sleep study chances are they will award you with Sleep apnea. Make sure to include a prescription for a CPAP machine along with the sleep study. This can all be done right now on VA.gov with the upload. All the claims are grouped together but they will assign that evidence to that condition.

Thanks for the reply,

I decided to quick submit all the relevant documentation including a form 21-4138 (statement in support of) and also open a BDD claim on the VA website because why not. I imagine I am unfortunately making a lot of work for some VA employee somewhere but I really need to get everything right in regards to this claim before I exit the military through IDES.
