I’m currently in the Army National Guard and recently received 100% P&T from my latest combat deployment.
I have about 12 years left to hit 20 and am not interested in trying to keep extending.
I have multiple diagnoses that are tied back to my deployment while on active duty (TBI, PTSD, sleep apnea, migraines, some musculoskeletal issues). I do not have any LODs from the guard directly, everything I have is recorded through my active duty time/PHAs.
Would attempting to achieve a medical retirement make sense in my situation? I have about a year left on my current contract. If so, how would I even go about initiating this?
Thank you for your help in this matter.
