Jason, I rec'd med. retire. orders Mon, May 14th but my comm. hasn't allowed me to out process till today. Now, he's put me on "admin hold" bc he says my FEB has not closed out and he's opening an investigation bc he was told I was late to work recently and missed a day (both are bologna). He has ordered me to stop out processing, even though I have a retirement date of July 28th. What should I do??? Please help!

Just got word of 20% DoD and 80% VA. My Medical Officer never submitted my addendum for my back and hip to be part of my NARSUM. I'm waiting on the call from the peblo to view my package but FPEB for sure.

I was recently diagnose with sjorgen syndrone. I have been on AD for eleven yrs. Will I be MEB for disease? I have read other posting of other members receiving only 20 percent disability.

Jason - First, thanks for making this site. This is AWESOME! Great information. I'm in the beginning phase of my MEB and from reading these boards I'm a little concerned regarding the appeal on the MEB decision. Can I PM you for specifics?

Jason, I'm planning on going to FPEB for cervical fusion. I am trying to fight for a fit. I have been found unfit but have not received my VA rating. I have 16 yrs an 6 months and like everyone I want to get the retirement. Have you seen anyone fight for fit on cervical fusion or is COAD my best option. I passed my APFT and i have no issues with my job at my rank(senior CPT/Logistic Officer). Thanks

Jason, I'm in desperate need of help. When I signed my findings I acceppted a 0% DOD and 70% VA. The PEBLO stated at that time since I was 0% DOD I would not have to repay my severance but now I am hearing different. If I have to repay it it could be extremely difficult to make ends meet and I have no idea what I would do. PLEASE HELP!

The ankle happened in Iraq.My ROM is about 70%,I have to wear a boot to keep from putting too much pressure on it.I have trouble going up/down stairs and can stand for intervals of about 15 minutes.I am sure I will be medically retired since I've been in ten years and am looking at least 60% by my guess, but probably more.I know the VA comes back with a number as well as the Army. And then I guess I'm supposed to choose which one to take. Some people tell me if the Army offers a severance to take it because the VA will kick in once it gets the equivalent of being paid off from the severance. Another person told me that if you wait to file your VA and accept the Army's offer you can get both.Any help or advice you can offer is appreciated. Other conditions I have:lower back problems (no surgeries, but several visits to the ER for sprains and extreme pain), minor depression (originally claimed as PTSD), plantar fascitis in both feet, and severe carpal tunnel in both wrists.

I have been in the Med Board process for almost a year now. I signed my Narsum on Nov. 6, 2011, was officially declared unfit by PEB on Nov 27, 2011 and now I am still waiting what is supposed to be the final decision before I can get my orders. I have been told that the clock started ticking once I signed my Narsum and have been told that it would be no longer than 60 days. It is now February 9, 2012 and I have yet to hear what my percentages are. I have 17 claimed conditions, but the main ones are severe sleep apnea and osteochondral defect in my right ankle. The ankle happened while deployed so I think that makes a difference. Any ideas on how long I will be waiting and a rough guess at percentages? Thanks for any help you can give!

Is it worth it to get out on a medical if you are Reservist with 28 years? I have a 40% disability from the VA. I want to make the right decision. I feel it is harder and harder to do my job these days in the Reserves. I am looking for advice. Can you help? Do they award you the same percentage? Where can I get this info in layman's terms?

Hello, I have a hereditary disease, that I got diagnosed few moths ago. I can perform my job without restrictions, besides that I can not deploy to combat zone due to being on blood thinners. Just got my 356...severance pay, 10% disability... do you know if I have a chance to stay in the militaary or receive better benefits?

Jason, You are superiorily well-versed on these types of issues! I am currently at Fort Sam Houston (AGR - GA) undergoing a 6 week Healthcare Admin AMEDD course and have a few (3) case studies that will go before review next week. Would you mind taking a look at them and offering your opinion, completely off the record. (you already helped with one - the Cardiology ques I had...). I could e-mail them to you or post them?

Hey Jason, when we last talked I had just gotten out of the hospital for my initial diagnosis of Leukemia. Well no MEB was initiated at that time and I began to fail the drugs and had a stem cell transplant on 08 Jan 2010. I have since been doing well but I have not stabalized yet. Anyway, I now have 18 1/2 years in and the Army wants to start the MEB now. What frustrates me is that the Army was no where near my treatment and recovery. I am treated at a civilian hospital and the Army has no idea where I am at, they just say it's time to MEB. Technically I am in remission so I am told I would rate 0 although I am still taking Gleevec, and would be rated on residuals. My concern is, I worked hard for that 20 year retirement and to potentially have it taken away hurts. Can I still drop my retirement packet although the MEB may have started? Also, what are the chances I can COAD and does that affect anything? My goal is at a minimum to secure my retirement and then what ever else.

llo, i'm sorry to send the private message, but i wanted to get correct information, i have been hearing so many different stories, ok, i have presently 34 years of military service 22 active duty and 12 reserve, i can retire at any time, i qualify for the final pay i came in the military in 1977 , I am presently a E-8 , i was told the meb would not hurt my chance, going through meb for cervical spondylosis , lumbar spondylosis , ashma, bronchosteoarthritis right hip, and left shoulder. I'm not sure if i well benefit from this, also i took at severance pay back in 1992 when i got out the first time, and i understand that i well have to pay that back first. Please give me some insight, thank you very much for your time.
