DFAS seems to be a different beast altogether. I just received my first VA payment today. It closed mid month April, so that’s good. I’ve talked with DFAS a couple of times on their customer service line. The Navy apparently takes quite awhile to finish their audit. I was told to be prepared for...
Apologies for the delay in getting back to you firstly.
Sounds like you are doing what you have to do. My retirement message came in really quickly. I think it may have been 3-5 days is all. I would suggest you begin doing all that you can for the separation process, completing the worksheet...
My PEBLO was not very helpful throughout the process at all. I’ve seen other folks have the same and different situation here. I got my prelim unfit finding from the PEB phone number directly. They’d told me I was sent for ratings, so therefore I had something that had been found unfit.
As far...
So I actually have myPay open in another tab right this very moment. I was actually just trying to figure out if there was a number that I could call to request a status on the switch over.
myPay is showing me as a seperated Navy service member and also a Retiree Navy. My last LES had just...
@SanDiego2009, Have you had your FPEB yet or know when it will be? I know I've seen things saying they are backed up pretty badly on that side as well.
A heads up for the folks that are in the process, nearing the end.
Get your DD214 submitted to the VA as soon as you can. Your PEB VA Findings will be resubmitted as a new claim on your actual retirement date if they have your DD214.
Timeline as follows for me from that point:
2/29/2024-...
Thanks, yeah I don’t have a second claim yet, so I think that may be why the confusion. I called and was told that the QuickSubmit tool doesn’t always work, but he gave me the fax so I sent it off.
Really I’m just trying to get it in ASAP so that there won’t be any delay in the payments starting.
Thanks. I just happened to find "QuickSubmit" as an avenue to upload evidence so gave that a shot. Just want to get it to them asap so there isn't a hold up due to them waiting on me. lol If that doesn't go through, I'll reach out for a fax.
Just woke up to find my DD214 had been sent to me.
Question for the group: I know that the DD214 has to be uploaded into VA.gov, yet, I'm really struggling in finding where that is. Anyone know?
I had a buddy that checked out of post the same day as me. He already had his DD214, but I'm not sure how that happened. He went through the full FPEB process as well before getting out.
It feels great. So much stress lifted. I have a new career lined up, waiting for the training class for it to begin. Just got a second interview on a "filler" job for the meantime and will hopefully be starting with them soon.
I had a total of like 76 days when I realized that time was limited so I got onto a leave period as I was awaiting final findings. I ended up with 38 days of terminal leave and will end up selling 7.5 days of leave back due to the NLT date of retirement.
Honestly, my orders had like 4 other...
This is my timeline now. I'm still waiting for my DD214, but I just checked out of my command yesterday and begin terminal tonight at 1801.
As far as what happens after you approve your findings, your command will get a message to request orders, from there you will get orders for you to...
