  • Will I lose my GI Bill as well? I served the 3 year commitment required and just want to be able to still go to school.
    Hello Jason,

I wanted to first off thank you for all the selfless help you have provided everyone on this board, just reading posts here is an inspiration.
My problem....I am worried that I am going to be med boarded with 3 1/2 years of AD and am concerned about a couple things. What happens to my benefits? Will I lose access to my Post 9/11 GI Bill if they find that it was a preexisting condition (i dont think it is but I hear horror stories). I'm extremely stressed enough by the medical side and I'm worried I'm gonna lose everything I worked for.
HELLO , HOWS DOING. WELL I JUST WAITING FOR MY LOD GET CLOSE THIS HAVE BEEN IN PUERTO RICO FOR WEEKS, WELL HAVE A GOOD TIME . THANKS BYE
I talked to maparker earlier on the phone about the whole situation that happened with every and had long chat about the positive that came out of my situation that will hopefully help other in this process. He also told me about your offer to help as he said pro bono if I need you help. I just wanted to thank you for even considering that even though I fairly sure that things will be at least a little more now. I also wanted to thank you for creating this forum to help those who truly dont have a voice. if it werent for this forum I dont think I would be able to say that now I will proably get the chance to complete my medical processing, through all the help that has been give to me over the past few days. I would also like to say that I admire and believe in what people like you and maparker and many other are doing here to help out our soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines.
    Jason,

I know that everyone and their mother has a question for you...This is for a friend that has no resources and I don't want him to get screwed the way that I did. He's at Walter Reed and just received his NARSUM. While he was reviewing it there were a couple of discrepancies that he noticed. One was glaring.

He developed a series of Pulmonary Embolisms in his lungs over a period of time about a year ago and the NARSUM states that they aren't putting anything in the packet about them because they have no idea how the Embolisms started. Well, they started at WR. That much is obvious. He hauled is butt into the ER there from the Barracks.

What can he do about getting it added? The Docs have already done revisions....So they say.

BTW, this is a Bronze Star recipient, multi awards, incredible soldier.

    Thanks,

    Jenn

PS, They also accidentally killed him by overdosing him while he was in the hospital:) Thank God they brought him back. He's a little bitter.
I need your help. I am getting MEB for crohns and you seem to have some knowledge about some things. Please see my thread under Crohns MEB Help. Thanks
Thank you for the information. I'm not too familiar with ratings, but I'm not looking for too much disability anyways. I just want the findings to be "unfit for duty" and get separated before my feet get worse. I talked to my military podiatrist earlier this week and he said flat feet will get you out regardless if it is "mild", "moderate", or "severe" and he also said that I would get a little bit of disability. I'd just like to know how accurate that statement is. I know it is an epts condition and again, I'm not looking for a disability paycheck just to get my honorable discharge and full benefits so that I can get out of this limbo and get on with my life. Thank you guys again, you have been very helpful.
Hi Jason, I just joined because I saw that you have a short list of attorneys to contact that could assist me on my MEB. Could send them to me - zira is confused.

    Thanks. I appreciate it.
Thanks Jason, Since i last posted what i was going through i sent in my appeal to the ARBA. I received a letter May 14 2009 from them saying that it may be as long as twelve months before i receive notification of the decision on my application. I have edvidence to back my appeal from a recent examination. I was told that eventually i would have to have total knee replacement. Thanks again for your help.
I have been rated 80% with a 60% payout through VA. I was given a P3 profile and my pulhes are 333213 . I was told i was going straight to an meb in oct 2008.In Feb 2009 I was told that i am going to a fit for duty board. It is now july 2009 and all that i have been assisted with is a point of contact " PEBLO" and nothing else. I have nerve damage and D.J.D in my neck, back, right arm,and right leg from a fall in full gear. Both knees damaged,PTSD.Is this normal for this process??
Jason it has been a while since posting our conversation. My PHA is complete and my PULHES have changed to 313122. I spoke to the DIV surgeon and she stated because of my PULHES I would be going to through an MMRB. Her response to this was that she is 99% sure they are going to find me FIT for duty. Does this make since? How can they make that determination without having convened the board. How do I force the issue of wanting to go to an MEB/PEB?

As it stands I am waiting for HRC to contact me so that I can find out what additional documentation is required on my part.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
Jason- I need your outstanding advise. I am being PEB'ed and am part of the VA Pilot Program. This past Monday I completed my VA appointments. I have an appointment with a representative from the VFW to do a medical records review in case of medical retirement. I have 19 years of AD time in now and will ask for an LAS to remain in until 20 for concurrent receipt if forced to get out. I have a myriad of problems including severe back issues, fibromyalgia, CFS, sleep apnea w/CPAP, chronic neutropenia, bursitis, IBS, depression and migraines. (And a few other minor ones.) These problems have been identified by the VA. Three of the problems are on the list for the PEB. OK- my question is- is the VFW review of my medical records going to interfer with my ongoing PEB? Should I wait until I get the results back before I meet with the VFW? Last thing- how does it work regarding ratings with so many issues? Thanks for any advise you can give.

HELLO . WELL DFAS SENT THAT DOCUMENT BUT ITS LOOK THAT WAS SENT FROM PR, THERES ARE 2 EMAILS IN THE DOCUMENT THAT I SENT TO FINE OUT, BUT NO RESPONSE.IS STRANGE THAT THEY HAVE TO WAIT 8 MOUNTH TO CHECK IS I WAS PAY OR NOT,DID YOU CHECK THE DOCUMENT.
Hi Jason, thanks for your reply. I will surely use the link you provided. I guess a short question will be; how much percentage do you think I will get from the VA with GSW to shoulder and how much money should I expect to get monthly if I get medical retired as a SSgt with 11-12 yeras. Thanks
My fiancee's Orthopedic Surgeon said they are gping to put her on a 365-day duty limiting profile and recommend to her PCM that she undergo a Med Board. They STILL have no idea what's bothering her knee, but her surgeon recommended the MEB based on how long its bothered her and that not treatments have helped. What do you think the chances her PCM will agree, and how long does this usually take? I'm just worried her PCM nor the Board will see it the same way.
Jason - WOW! Those numbers are amazing, along with this site! Makes you wish you were back in High School and doing a senior project again, LOL! Quite a project though, and it needs to recognized so that more may find answers and help they need. Whether it is simple or complex and requiring the need to hire you. Either way, this site and your continuous service is great. The amount of posts and replies I see you have each night amazes me, and makes one stop and think of the amount of personal time, after work, you put in to this. If I can help out in any way let me know. I am doing my homework so that I may help others, since I have completed my PEB and headed back home. Now I am on to the VA side of things and looking into fighting the Army (the VA rep told me I should once I get back to PA). Long story! Maybe I'll email you about that. Hope all is well, and once again thanks!

Jason - this is the least the many users of this site can do. Your countless hours on here alone, helping many, should be rewarded somehow, someway. I am much appreciative of your work on here. I was wondering, do you keep a tally of how many users have been through this site and have requested help? I can only imagine what that number would be! Once again thanks Jason!
Jason - would you be able to post your info for all to see so that we may vote for you for the CNN Hero? Maybe you have, I just have not seen it, and it asks for city, state, etc? It would be great! Thanks.
