    Unit is saying I need to extend.

    Extensions are usually a formality while going through the MedBoard. The extensions are set at 1 year, but can be cut early once your MedBoard is complete. I was extended until December 2021 and I was able to retire this past April.

    The Air Force version of this code is as follow: RE-2Q: Medically retired or discharged So I'm not sure if this disqualifies you for further service with the Airforce, but each branch has different definitions of this specific codes.
