If you look in the JTR, you have something like a year, or two years, to execute a move on the government's dime after a medical separation.

For everybody reading, that is wrong. If you look in the Dodi 1332.18, it very clearly says that your exams while you are in DES help for your separation physical.

WHAT medical separation package?

100%. I see this all the time, people make the mistaken assumption that just because they have a VA rating, that they rate (or should habe rated) a DOD rating or retirement. Absolutely not the case, for multiple reasons.

Not really a fair question, because there are a couple of steps in between you getting your findings and you receiving your message, which can very for a few different reasons, not really in your or your commands control.

Recommend you start taking leave now. Otherwise, you will definitely be selling some of that back. Navy is pretty tight with it, but all the services are accelerating their separation timeline, per DOD guidance.

I checked with one of my Sailors today. Unless they have changed the format of the message, it is paragraph 6. And there is also a reference to the actual instruction in that paragraph.
