    UCMJ in retiree status?

I'm not a lawyer, but I highly doubt any lawyer (even a military one) would feel comfortable attempting to prosecute a retired member for something as minor as this, especially considering your condition. Talk about a PR nightmare. I would however, report the Major to his command. Did you get...

    Concurrent pay??

I believe these are the current bills for the concurrent receipt/pay issue: https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/115/hr303 https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/115/hr333 https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/115/s66

Has anyone had DOD or VA ratings go down?

I highly doubt your local JA office will help you on a MEB. That being said, the MEB lawyers in San Antonio are supposed to help you along the way during the whole process, but when I went thru my MEB I wasn't actually able to speak to one of the actual attorneys until my ratings came in. They...

AFBCMR Claim Forwarded To The Board

Looking over the board's statement of facts, they state this: "According to the applicant's AF Form 938, amended on 3 Sep 13, his Home of Record (HOR) changed to Denver, CO on 16 May 2013." The Form 938 is the order itself. In the remarks of the order, they stated: "n. Member just obtained...

AFBCMR Claim Forwarded To The Board

Well, apparently contacting my Senator did something. Just got the decision in the mail. The portion about back pay due to being taken off orders while undergoing the MEB is approved, however, the portion about getting travel benefits has been denied. Their wording is below: "3. Insufficient...

Who To Contact About Problems With VA Choice Program?

Awesome! Thank You! You think if I just call the main number to the hospital, they'll be able to forward me to a patient advocate?

Who To Contact About Problems With VA Choice Program?

Didn't think of trying a patient advocate. I'm in Denver, CO. I'm not sure where the people are located for the Choice program. The phone messaging asks for my zip code, so I'm guessing they have people all over the country.

Who To Contact About Problems With VA Choice Program?

Does anyone know who I should contact about problems getting an appointment using the VA Choice Program? About 3 months ago, VA Urology forwarded me to the VA Choice Program to get a semen analysis done since the VA doesn't do that procedure. Long story short, I've been going round and round...

AFBCMR Claim Forwarded To The Board

Interesting. Maybe I'll send it to someone else, too. Thanks for the heads up. Maybe if they know they'll be too busy, they'll forward it to another rep's office?

AFBCMR Claim Forwarded To The Board

Sent it in today to one of my Senators. He's up for re-election this year, so hopefully that helps. I imagine I'll get a call or email soon from the reps.

House payments if disabled, check it out.

I wish I could help, but I can't even find an insurance plan that covers this. Everything I read, says you have to have died. There is debt protection plan with USAA but only covers $12,000 if disabled. I'm guessing that it is probably not standard with USAA or through a VA loan.

I bet their building is probably locked down to visitors, as well. Air Force isn't much better. Congrats on getting retirement!

AFBCMR Claim Forwarded To The Board

Thank you for the response. If I'm understanding you correctly, by going this route, there isn't a need to file an IG complaint with the SECAF, since they'll be informed anyway? The other thing about the law is that the board is required to complete 90% of cases within 10 months of receipt...

AFBCMR Claim Forwarded To The Board

I was wondering if I could get some opinions on this. As of 22 June 2016, it had been 18 months since the AFBCMR received my claim. According to Title 10, Section 1557, the board as 18 months to complete claims, however, I believe there is a possibility they can get a waiver and there is...

Wish I knew about this 5 years ago. Sold the house then, but have no idea if I had the coverage.

No More Physicians For Veterans at VA?

My first response was laughter, then sadness. In all honesty, both of them are professional drug pushers.

    SSDI Questions

In my own situation, my payment is always on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. Make sure your case manager understands the expedited process for military. I had a few arguments with my case manager about this, delaying it in the process. Then my lawyer didn't even know about it, either.

100% VA, Tricare, SSDI, and Medicare

In my own situation, I have Medicare part B(Tricare for Life) and VA. I use both Tricare for Life and VA (not sure if this allowed, but I'm doing it lol, didn't want the VA performing surgery on me...) and my wife uses Tricare Standard. If I was single, I might have opted to just have Medicare...
