You may want to check out DAFI 36-2910 chapt 5. My understanding is that as active duty, all illnesses/injuries are assumed to be in the line of duty with the exception of suspected misconduct, negligence, AWOL, etc. Not sure if any of those apply - not my business...but I find it curious why...
