Thanks @Provis - I'll DM you with a specific response to the CRSC question. Appreciate the video link. I'll check it out.

    MEB Question

I'm thoroughly confused about the interaction of 1405 time with active duty federal service. Here's my situation for context: Currently at 6,000 active duty retirement points (+/- 16.5 years). I have a total of 6,791 "retirement points" per PCARS (Air National Guard points). I'm before my second...

    Successful AFBCMR, DFAS settlement

Not an answer to your question, but curious if you would share the timeline for DFAS's review and eventual payout? I'm going on 5 months since I submitted the requested documents. FWIW, I was able to utilize a GAO rule that permits outside wages to not be considered for offset under the...

Line of Duty submitted with MEB?

You may want to check out DAFI 36-2910 chapt 5. My understanding is that as active duty, all illnesses/injuries are assumed to be in the line of duty with the exception of suspected misconduct, negligence, AWOL, etc. Not sure if any of those apply - not my business...but I find it curious why...

Line of Duty submitted with MEB?

Hmm, does your situation involve a "formal LOD"?

Line of Duty submitted with MEB?

I'm assuming your either Guard or Reserve. If so, how did your case get forwarded to AFPC before having an LOD in hand?

Guard/Reserve entering DES with existing VA Rating

One more alibi: with the new scrutiny by VA disability examiners in our new day and age, do you still recommend IDES over LDES, especially if I'm looking at all new C&P exams?

Guard/Reserve entering DES with existing VA Rating

@Provis and any others: What if my C&P exams are over 1-year old? I'm not particularly concerned with going all the way back through the C&P exams as I believe my ratings would qualify twice over for 100% disability. It's more just the pain of the exams I'd like to minimize, but I would go...

    ANG MEB

After 3 years, I guess it's my turn. This one is going to be long so buckle up. Hopefully this will help drill-status (traditional) Guard and Reservists (Air Force). Background: ANG O-5, 19Z3 Special Warfare (TACP). 24 total years TIS, 16.5 active. - Went on near-continuous orders in 2017-2023...

Guard/Reserve entering DES with existing VA Rating

I have seen several past posts about specific language to include on the election form for IDES vs. LDES. I'm on the cusp of entering the DES and have an existing VA rating (100% P&T). PEBLO thinks I should elect LDES for the sake of time. I've read some compelling posts on this forum to NOT...

    ALC and referral to DES?

Quick update: I contested the IRILO to my chain of command who then advocated for a sit-down discussion directly with the preparing flight doctor (I'm not a pilot, but my AFSC requires certain medical qualifications). The SGP flight doc hadn't consulted nor evaluated me initially, but he was...

Read This if You Have Been Denied LOD Initiation or Had NGB Find Your Condition NILOD!

@thizzle29 I've been in a 3-year fight with NGB (ANG). Multiple NILOD determinations leading to a SAF/IG investigation that turned into a Report of Investigation (reserved for big-picture systemic problems). Basically, NGB/A1 and NGB/SG got a pretty significant rebuke if you read between the...

Air National Guard IRILO NGB Timeline Question

Do you know if you will be recommended for a duty-, or non-duty DES? From experience, NGB will pull out all the stops to push you into the non-duty DES.

@raven1954 Man, I'm sorry for this all-to-common experience. I have a very similar story except I wasn't even pushed to the NDDES...I was Returned to Duty to be administratively separated/retired. I'm going the through the BCMR at the same time which is weird, and I'm hoping my MDG will...

    ALC and referral to DES?

I just heard back that my IRILO was reviewed by NGB/SG and I was RTD with an ALC2 for one condition. The NARSUM addressed other potentially unfitting conditions as well, but the ALC2 only addresses one of the conditions. Is there a chance that NGB/SG will make a separate determination on the...
